No More Drunken Sailors
The Navy and Marine Corps have launched a program to detect and stop alcoholism among service members. Navy Secretary Ray Mabus says every sailor boarding a ship will undergo a breathalyzer test. Officials believe irresponsible drinking is the common denominator in a host of personnel problems. They range from drunken driving to domestic violence. The alcohol campaign is part of a sweeping initiative to improve the health and readiness of Naval personnel. Service officials are also looking at stop-smoking programs.

This sounds like a liberal infringement of individual rights. Alcohol is not an illegal substance but some drugs are. Why no drug tests when boarding a ship? As long as the service member is not under the influence when on duty, why are these people getting involved with the private lives of service members? Where does it stop? Maybe they should take samples to ensure that personnel are only having sex with their spouse. That causes problems too.
Freedom does not come without a price.
Because they now believe they own us.
