ANNAPOLIS, Md. (AP) -- Maryland wildlife managers are holding the first of two public meetings on a proposal to reduce the statewide bag limit for white-tailed bucks from nine to three.
The meeting is set for Tuesday night in Annapolis.
The proposal is part of a package of possible changes in hunting and trapping regulations that the Department of Natural Resources is putting out for public comment through March 15.

Why the limit only on whitetail?
When the greedy developers take land and woods deer have no habatit left, you have to killem.
Seen a lot of dead deer this year on nanticoke rd. Suicidal maybe?
I was under the impression that deer had a very limited habitat. That was until I took a helicopter ride over the shore. I was amazed to see the amount of forest on the Shore. Totally changed my view of the Shore and the huge forests left for wildlife. The deer are far from being squeezed out.
It won't stop the darned poachers!
Most hunters are not fortunate enough to kill even one or two bucks a year. I don't see this law changing anything. I don't know the logic behind this because if they wanted to adjust the population they would need to control the number of females, not bucks.
