Wicomico Sheriff's Deputy On The Ball

Just moments ago a Sheriff's Deputy was driving through Downtown and witnessed a man throwing trash on the ground as he was walking. The Deputy, (even though he was heading somewhere) immediately stopped and told the man to go back and pick up his trash. He then explained how that is a $500.00 FINE.

As much trash that is thrown on the ground in Downtown Salisbury, it's refreshing to see someone taking charge and doing something about it.

This is a good thing. Should happen more often.

He should have waived the fine and given him community service and make him pick up trash. Maybe he will think the next time before he throws things on the ground, but more than likely he will just look around to see if the police are watching.

A guy who works there told me the county's litter crew that's made up of inmates from the jail picked up over 150 tons of litter from county roads in 2011. Kudos to the deputy. Kudos for the crew that picks up after the dumb masses that throw stuff out their cars. They make the beautiful eastern shore look like a dump.

I saw a Deputy stop his car on Old Ocean City Rd last year, got out of his car and drug a dead deer off of the road. I was impressed.
