In Maryland, Your Vote Doesn't Matter Any More

Senator Richard Madaleno Jr. (a democrat from Montgomery County) has proposed a revenue cap loophole that would allow five charter counties in Maryland to tax above and beyond the revenue cap.

Pollitt claims he knows nothing about this and even states that because this Senator didn't come to him for input, he wants nothing to do with it. OK, if you're anything like me, we're calling BS on that one.

Nevertheless, I have stated for many years on this Blog. The government will drain you of every penny you have. Then they'll force you to borrow what you don't have until you get to the point you'll lose everything you did have. The next thing you know you're dependent on your government for survival.

Well, it's a-holes just like this Senator who couldn't give a damn about YOUR vote. These liberals will do anything to support their unions and take from you, even if it means they're taking from your own government.

My strong suggestion to every one of you is as follows. Get the hell OUT of Maryland, even if it means taking a loss. Remember, a home in Delaware is selling at a loss too, so sometimes its worth losing for a gain down the road.

In Sussex County they haven't raised property tax in 64 years. How's it working for YOU in Wicomico County? Even when you VOTE to protect your taxes, new proposals come forward to screw you.

Now, no one is saying Pollitt is behind any of this but let's make something very clear here. Pollitt is on the record for being against the revenue cap and has been spending years trying to convince people it needs to be removed. He may POLITICALLY state he wants nothing to do with this but we all know who we can and can't trust any more. Especially coming from someone who hates the revenue cap.

Pollitt, (in my honest opinion) is staying away from this because he has a majority of republicans on the Council. God Forbid the majority becomes Democrat. I'm no fool, are you?

Absolutely possitively! Pollitt is up to his neck in this! NO ONE will believe that he doesn't support this behind the scenes. He doesn't want the Wicomico County population thinking he had anything to do with it because most peoplehere believe in the fact that the power still resides with the people. This should make it absolutely clear to everyone that the democrat party is definitely not about the rights of the people. I don't believe that most democrats in Wicomico
County will support these changes in the platform of their party that strip people of the right to govern themselves. The same could be said about the republical party. They are both in a race to see which party can strip people of their roghts and money first.

ok, let's get serious about this. BESIDES moving (99% can't move, so not a serious solution), what else can we do?

give us the info to bombard the people we need to bombard with calls and emails.

we need a serious solution for right now !!!!! this must be stopped.

This is just a part of a nationwide movement to circumvent the will of the people. There is but one way to stop this non-sense. And we all know what it is.

We saw this coming, and GOT OUT of Maryland.
The last thing the state did was reach into our pocket one more time as we left-- a special 6% tax on our RENTAL TRUCK !!

anonymous 9:55, seriously, with all due respect, you don't get it.

It's over. THIS absolutely proves beyond any shadow of any doubt that your elected officials do not care what YOU think.

Education has taken over not only the majority of costs to the taxpayers, now they'll change the laws to get even more out of you, like it or not.

Your VOTE no longer matters in Maryland. Hell, your VOTE for President doesn't matter any more either. Would any of you have given all those bailouts to corporations as President?

Delaware seems to be the safest state in the union. Pretty soon your paper money will have no value, it's happened in past history.

You know, man y of you look at these Prepers today and think they'll all nuts. Well, you think about it for a minute.

IF something were to happen in the country and grocery stores didn't have the stock of food you're so used to, can you make it for 2 weeks, or 3, or 4?

Can you afford to go to work knowing someone is at your home breaking in but the police are so overwhelmed with calls they might get to you in a week, maybe more, if ever.

You people better open your eyes to what is REALLY happening to America.

Liberals THINK they're doing what is right or what is best but they are wrong!

When we go broke, are those $100,000,000.00 schools going to have any value? Doesn't matter anyway because by then you'll be so dependent on your liberal government that you'll have no say in anything any more anyway.

I don't know how many different ways I have to warn you people. BE PREPARED, is all I'm saying. And don't you ever come back here and say you had no warning.

So you basically are calling him a liar. Rick has always been up front about wanting the revenue cap repealed - BY THE VOTERS. For you to accuse him of being dishonest about that -"we all know who we can and can't trust" - is really out of line. He has never tried to hide his position on it and I see no reason for him to start now. Besides, there are plenty of people who are willing to vote again; if enough folks want it repealed, that will be the way it goes. I for one am willing to take him at his word. You may not like his positions, but even you, Joe, know he is an honest man. This is low on your part, in my honest opinion.

Just because it is proposed, doesn't mean it is law.

anonymous 10:10, you have your opinion and I have mine.

I did not choose to live a politicians life, he did.

God Forbid ANYONE challenge those people who are screwing over the people that voted for them.

Do I believe Rick Pollitt is an habitual liar, absolutely not. I am simply warning you, be very careful from this point forward.

The BOE didn't get their way with Bennett Middle School, YET. However, how convenient for this to come into play.

Pollitt promissed Fredericksen that he's get him what he wanted. I'm not supid nor should my viewers be.

Are you denying this information about the Senator not being true? Did Montgomery County need this in place????? Use you head for once.

10:10 is one of Ricks cronies. Like Obama cronies they will justify anything they do even as the facts are right in front of them. They are delusional.

Until those like Pollitt and Madaleno are charged with fraud scheme this crap is going to get worse.....we need to force the states att's office to do their job and nail these crooks!

Anonymous said...

10:54, what exactly is the fraud that Pollitt has committed? Name one thing he said he would or would not do and has done the opposite! You want the law to "nail these crooks" - do tell us what law has been broken. What a crock of patuoui! See, Joe what you instigate with these baseless charges and innuendos?

The citizens voted for the revenue cap.For politicians to try to repeal it should be grounds for their dismissal from office.

anonymous 11:12, let's start with the landfill. 13 employees who Rick Pollitt stated WOULD be terminated, MOST are still working there and were never fired. Yet equipment from Wicomico County was found on their properties.

Voters voted it in and voters can vote it out. No crime there.

Yeah, I thought my last comment would shut you up. TRUTH hurts, doesn't it.

10:10 beautifully written. And, no, 10:42, I'm no more one of Rick's cronies that 10:10 is. Mr. Pollitt has, as 10:10 says, always made clear that he very much opposes the revenue cap. Look at what this cap has done already to us, and then imagine what life in Wicomico will be like in another 5 years, another 10. I am a Republican, but I have always opposed this cap because of what it has done to the county I love and have made my home in for over 60 years. I was in the group that originally opposed this cap and marched (literally) from the library, where we were meeting, to the Government Office Building. As a retired educator, I was able to see what effect such a cap would have on our schools, though I couldn't have imagined it would be this bad. (e.g. Bennett Middle). The people, I am conviced, were misled when they voted for the cap. They were angry at the then-Council for raising our taxes by 46 cents per $100 in an attempt to make up for the low level of funding for running the county at the time. The people thought, erroneously, that the cap meant that their individual property tax would be capped at 2% a year. We need to return to the polls on this issue!

Well stated, 2:56. I wholeheartedly agree. I too have lived here forever and hate to see what this illadvised cap has done to our county. I say let the voters decide if we have had enough. I would rather see it brought to referendum than have some western shore person try to make it law without our input. As an aside, why all these posts about people in Montgomery county? Who is so concerned about them?

JoeAlbero said...

anonymous 4:42, the voters have already decided on the matter. So when liberals don't like what the people voted on, bring it back up for a vote again, right? Am I reading you properly?????

Also, Montgomery County is brought up because that is where the Senator who proposed this is from. I asked IF Montgomery County is asking for such a change because I find a Senator from that area proposing such a thing highly suspiscious. (sp?)

Quote from the article, "Sen. Richard Madaleno, a Montgomery County Democrat who has been working on the maintenance-of-effort issue, said lawmakers have received an opinion from the attorney general that the General Assembly has the power to override local referendum decisions because of its duty under the Maryland Constitution to provide for education."
