DEA Inquiries Into State's Medical Marijuana Industry Include Legislators

Diane Sands is used to having her name taken in vain.
That's just part of being a liberal from Missoula in the Montana Legislature.
But her name surfaced recently in a way that offended and troubled her at a profound level.

The real reason is because the drug industry is scared that Prozac, antidepressants and a slew of other drugs will be rendered useless..The liquor industry will be reduced in half, jails will have open cells, and people will grow their own...so many industries would be transformed over night...So you tell me what the real reason? This war makes no sense. The ignorance of ignoring the benefits, by restricting a GOD given weed that is far safer then ANY OTHER narcotic out there...but its election time and the above mentioned lobbies are fighting to stop this!! When it’s obvious it’s about time to end this stupid stupid war which has wasted tons of cash that could be put to better use, combating the really dangerous substances out there

Oh wait I forgot to mention the savings from LESS of the DEA, Judical /courts, border enforcement, miltary interdiction, political focus, less health care (POT does not kill Speed does!!)..And we have not even started on the revenue part of this equation.. Anyone care to elaborate??

Leagalzation is a job killer for the above listed industries..All the money pots would be dry..When legalzation creates more jobs then it kills then maybe, but not until the licquor, drug, military, judical, agree to take drastics cuts in thier profits and or budgets!!

You forgot the crimminal enterprises that don't want it either. How much do they stand to lose? and the political kickbacks they provide but I 'm sure thats are not taking place on capital hill. and WHO has vested interest on the hill concerning industries tied to illegal pot

The murder and lawlessness of Prohibition wasn't a strong enough lesson for most Americans (or they are too ignorant of history, or think that there aren't any similiarities). And alcohol KILL hundreds of thousands of Americans EACH YEAR. Pot has NEVER, in 2 thousnad years, killed anyone. Go figure. I guess our "leaders" are just looking out for our "safety" and our "health". have another martini. And fire up another Marlboro. They're good for ya...
