Earl Campbell Very Upset With The Daily Times

I saw the daily times article and it pisses me off. First off, I never once said “Shortly after resigning, Campbell told his story to a local blogger, who reported -- wrongly, he says -- he had tried to convince the town to pay for the surgery. The post was met with anonymous reader comments that disenchanted him. Some were supportive, but many others levied accusations and criticism at Campbell, the OCPD, DiPino, Kirkpatrick and others.

"Going to (the blog) was probably the worst thing I ever did," Campbell said.

What I said was I sent the second article to clear up the misunderstanding in the first article. Meaning I gave you the letter of ownership to show and correct that I never asked for money. I even mentioned that numerous times on your blog.

Just wanted to clear that up. Im not sure if the reporter misunderstood me or what but I never said that in that reference!!!!

Earl

Earl Campbell Sends Message To Reporter On Facebook.

"Scott im very diappointed that you put in the daily times that putting the article on the blog was a mistake. It saddens me that because of a difference of opinion between you and Albero that you would place that in the paper. Placing that article in the blog was my best option to give guys an oppurtunity to know the facts and give thheir opinion. In the future, please dont make it seem as though im sorry for putting it in there. Im not sure if there was a misunderstanding or what but im not sorry for using the blog nor am i sorry for using the daily times."

Why is Jeff Simpson still employed with the City of Salisbury? Same BS like OCPD!

Anonymous said...

We' re not familiar with him, please elaborate. We need to rid all local departments of corruption!

The people at the times are running scared. They will lie to make their stories . they have entered the obama liberal way of communicating. As said as it seems , I hope most understand the truth , the truth will set you free!

Wow! I had lost all respect for officer Campbell when I read that DT article just now. I was like seriously?? How could he turn on the blog that fast? I mean I know it started a sh#$ storm but wow. So of course I immediately come to sbynews and am glad to have found this post. I apologize officer Campbell for jumping to conclusions. Way to go DT, I am so done with your lies! I'll just get the ads and classifieds from my grandparents (the only reason I get the paper anyway). I'll cancel my subscription today. For them to do this...despicable.

Maybe I am wrong but isn't that a case of libel and/or slander?

Earl Campbell said...

Im not saying this guy lied, Im saying there was either a misunderstanding or he didnt understand what I was saying in regards to the blog.

Just to clear things up, prior to this article, I had never spoke to Joe Albero a day in my life. I was not friends with Albero prior to this but I know people view his blog. Therefore, I used the blog to expose what happened to Charlie.

I originally did not want to do ANY interviews with news stories because I was fearful that information would be misunderstood.

I do think the final article in the Daily Times was a good factual represntation of what happened and I think the writer wrote a good article, I just wish the misunderstanding was worded differently.

To CLARIFY, I do not regret using the blog, I regret others jumping in and exposing other issues that took the focus away from K9 Charlie. The dog suffered and now because of other dirty laundry, that has been pushed on the back burner.

JoeAlbero said...

Well put Earl, thank you. I'd like to add, my original article CLEARLY stated that everyone was seeing ONE SIDE as I could not get an interview with the OCPD as this was a personnel matter at that time.

I always knew the Daily Times could never do investigative reporting but I didn't know they couldn't READ either.

slf said...

Earl, Charlie is the important issue here; and I know you know that. The only way in this town to get the story out in an unbiased way is Joe Albero's blog. I have supported you and Charlie all along and have no intention in changing my mind. Having worked for the "govt", I truly understand. By the way, the DT has gone to the other side of the dirt; shame on them

Anonymous said...

Typical of The Daily Slime, we've seen them for years trying to drive wedges between city council members and the mayors office with misinformation.

We've witnessed their bias, much like their coverage of the last petition that failed.

I'm glad they changed to facebook comments. Now I scan their website for about 5 minutes and I'm done because most of their news I had already seen here on this blog days before.

Gives me more time to be constructive, instead of returning to their site several times a day to check out comments. Idiots

JoeAlbero said...

I'd like to add, notice how the Daily Times sauys a Blogger but never says sbynews.com. They did NOT want their readers coming to Salisbury News to see any evidence or challenge against the Daily Times. Well, guess what, I can guarantee you one thing, 99.9% of their readers DO come to Salisbury News and now they're reading what Earl has to say about their article.

I told all of you, the Daily Times is all about protecting the municipalities because that's their bread and butter financially. Legal ads, ads for meetings, building permits, they are bought and sold by those that feed them the money to survive.

Funny how one Officer forced the animal to suffer stating they HAD to see a letter from the Vet, yet DiPino said she took the word of the Officer and retired the dog immediately. Do you read your own words Daily Times?????

Anonymous said...

After the reading the daily times it seems to me that Chief Dipino's story is contradictory. On one hand she says that she couldn't be reached because she was in Baltimore at a civil trial thus blaming her right hand man Kirkpatrick. Then on the other hand she says all officers have her cell number and can reach her anytime. So if any officer can reach her I would assume that Kirkpatrick, a staff member, can reach her on December 1 when he first heard the dog was suffering from Pfc. Cambpbell. So what story should we believe chief?

Anonymous said...

Please do not believe the statement from the chief, it is not possible to reach her anytime! She is well known in the halls of 65th for being great at talk and weak with action! The idea that she can suggest this silliness really upsets me. I am an officer there, I don't like want has been brought out, I don't like the forum that Earl has used, I don't like the blogg exposing our business. But I really don't like her saying that we have access, we sit in service each year as she makes a speech. We listen to her nonsense, knowing that with her...nothing changes! Under no circumstance is there an open door policy, there is favoritism, every cop here knows that. We know who is golden and who isn't! There are people that can't hammered for minor issues, and cheeks are turned at major ones. I was against the blog but now I see it may be the only option. The chief using the paper to speak, notice she is not on here, I think it is because she can't control the information. The LT, is known to not be honest, I can tell you that the entires working class group supports that assertion. We have issues and our chief opened the hornets nest now, to lie in print and say what she hash has turned many of us from sitting on the fence to jumping into the fight. I' know there are guys here with stories, some have told me they are gonna put them out, they feel compelled to speak up now. I am in the same boat, I have bashed you Earl, I am sorry. Now I am feeling more like you did and I understand your frustration.

I would also like to chime in here.

The Daily Times only today released an article surrounding the retired K-9. This just goes to help prove a point as to how SBYnews has outperformed its rival The DT. The timeliness of reporting at SBYnews is almost instantaneous whereas - on par - The Daily Times reporting is 3-4 days old.

Joe is absolutely correct - the DT is all about protecting the municipalities as these agencies 'grease their palms' so to speak.

SBYnews is more fair and balanced and thus the public's vantage point is more visible with enhanced clarity.

I think an independent investigation is needed. Any disagreement, it looks that bad.

And one more thing...

Wayne Nelson Davis vs Dipino

Google it, check it out.

Or get in touch with Pete the lawyer for Davis for info...he will share

Anonymous said...

The officer was NO "misunderstood"!
This is exactly how the Daily Times works! They misquote people ALL the time!
That's why I REFUSE to talk to ANY reporter from the Daily Times, EVER!
I was misquoted in their paper SEVERAL times a few years ago and it had A LOT of people VERY upset with me.
Yellow journalism = The Daily Times!
For those who don't know what yellow journalism means:

Yellow journalism" is used today as a pejorative to decry any journalism that treats news in an unprofessional or unethical fashion.

Joe,get off your ass and start a daily news paper! You know you would put the daily times out,lol...jr

Anonymous said...

This blog already took down one of DiPino's former co-workers from her time at Baltimore County PD (baldy)...so why not go for round 2?

Anonymous said...

This is actual court testimony, the judges own words about Dipino. The case is here, a long read, but here are some damning main points!

http://caselaw.findlaw.com/md-court-of-special-appeals/1211941.html

Even if DiPino reasonably believed that appellant knew she was engaged in the performance of duty, we remain convinced that DiPino lacked probable cause to secure appellant's arrest.   This is because appellant's act of speaking out, under the circumstances attendant here, did not constitute an act of hindering.

The court found the evidence of hindering insufficient.   It reasoned that, from across the street, the defendant could not have heard the woman agree to engage in an act of prostitution, and thus could not have known that a crime was being committed or that the officer would be making an arrest.   Further, as the officer was able to effect the arrest, the defendant could not have hindered him

Davis did not make a false statement.   Nor did he incite lawless action.   To be sure, this case did not involve national security that was jeopardized by a former governmental employee who had knowledge of sensitive security information.

Moreover, the evidence did not show that anyone besides King and the officers actually heard appellant's comment.   Indeed, the police officers merely speculated that people across the street may have heard Davis's remarks;  DiPino claimed that she saw “dirty looks” from others on the Street, but conceded that her two targets had already left the area, and things in the area were beginning to “wind down.”   Additionally, no evidence was presented to show that appellant actually placed the officers in any danger.   To the contrary, almost two months passed, uneventfully, between the time of the occurrence and appellant's arrest.   During that period, there was no suggestion of harm or threats of harm to DiPino that would have justified her continued belief that Davis put her in “extreme danger.”   While DiPino may have been exposed to a greater risk of danger than she would have been absent appellant's remarks, this does not amount to the “clear and present danger of imminent lawless action” that words must cause in order for one's First Amendment rights to succumb to valid state action.
Continued below...

HOLLANDER, Judge.

Anonymous said...

Continued...

arbitrary in pursuing Davis is evident from DiPino's own testimony.   On cross-examination, she testified that her father worked with Davis's girlfriend during the relevant period.   After Davis's arrest, DiPino learned from her father that it was Davis's girlfriend who had revealed DiPino's true identity to Davis.   Yet DiPino never sought charges against the girlfriend for hindering.   Nor did the officer file charges against appellant when he revealed to DiPino, a year earlier, that Sergeant Holtzman was actually a police officer.   DiPino thus seems to have acted “selectively on the basis of the content of the speech.   Such discretion is particularly repugnant given ‘ [t]he eternal temptation ․ to arrest the speaker rather than to correct the conditions about which he complains

Appellant's comment understandably annoyed or angered DiPino.   But we cannot countenance an arrest based on “conduct that annoy[ed]” a police officer. Nor can we sanction an arrest because of an officer's “personal predilections

Based on the facts of this case, we conclude that appellant was arrested in violation of his constitutional rights to free
We have concluded, however, that Davis's arrest was not founded upon probable cause, and that his arrest contravened his rights to free expression

I am also persuaded, however, that appellant's evidence was insufficient as a matter of law to establish either (1) that the right to “blow the cover” of an undercover officer had been “clearly established” when appellee filed her Application, or (2) that no reasonable law enforcement officer would believe that the information contained in the Application was sufficient to establish probable cause for appellant's arrest.1

HOLLANDER, Judge.

Anonymous said...

Earl, Your exactly right! The commentators here turned this into an entirely different issue that had nothing to do with you or Charlie.

Anonymous said...

All other issues aside (who is right or wrong etc...) Is it still appropriate to keep calling Earl Campbell "Officer"? He did after all resign that position. I haven't read all the comments pertaining to this story, (way to many) but i do respect Earl for his determination and integrity on the issue of the health of his partner. Just saying, If he can no longer call himself Officer Campbell, how can this blog?

Anonymous said...

Yeah. The Daily Times sucks, except for that Brice Stump. He's a genius.

Earl Campbell said...

10:56
That is fine and you are correct. I don't wear blue, I'm not a officer and I haven't asked anyone to call me officer. I gave that up the day I stood up for whats right and resigned.

Joe, I am not opposed to you listing all the previous posts as Earl Campbell. You may remove the officer so people are not upset with that. You will not offend me in anyway.

Anonymous said...

It took that loser of a newspaper 7 days to come up with a story.

Anonymous said...

What is City Hall doing about this? Does anyone know? Are Police Commission members Jim Hall, Doug Cymek, and Lloyd Martin along with the Mayor meeting with the officers?

Anonymous said...

OFFICER Earl Campbell, you do not need to explain why the title "officer" is still being used. Have you ever heard the saying "once a Marine, always a Marine?" I think 10:56 just wanted to add their 2 cents. You don't just fill out an application and all of the sudden become an officer of the law. There is education and training involved. Let's try to keep the focus on the main problem at hand. Thank you for serving sir!

Anonymous said...

I agree, what is the mayor and council doing? We have major issues here and the crazy thing is nothing is being said by the town leadership. It looks like they are waiting for story to blow over?

JoeAlbero said...

The Mayor called a special meeting today with ALL department heads, FACT. This will not blow over. It has been dangling around now for 7 days and EVERYONE has now felt the rath of just how big Salisbury News is. 300 comments strong, how many comments does the Daily Times have on their article???????

Nevertheless, they are taking it seriously.

Anonymous said...

Will you and Earl be there Joe to let us know exactly what takes place? This has gone on long enough with no closure. If not for SBYNews we would be in the dark.

Anonymous said...

1:27 thanks for your 2 cents... My statement about the title "Officer" had nothing to do with Earl Campbell (read: I respect Earl for his determination and integrity) The comment was aimed at this blog for using "Officer" in the story title above a picture of a uniformed officer (misleading) Title the story "Former Officer Campbell". I dont even have a problem with SBY News.. read it every day. It was an observation based on fact. Earl Campbell cannot refer to himself as Officer Campbell (also notice I never inferred that he has)It was simply a statement to SBY News as to a misleading title. and FYI I know exactly the amount of training and education involved in becoming an officer of the law.

Earl Campbell said...

time to drag this area out of the dark ages. every police department in this country has or should have a citizen review panel. This would bring more accountability to the departments. No longer could things be hidden or swept under the rug. Same for every police agency from state to county to city to town! But we know none of them want someone outside the blue wall to know the bs that is really going on! which we the citizens have to pay for and put up with!

Anonymous said...

As expressed in another of my comments, I find it appalling and disturbing to learn of the illegal and immoral treatment of the city's police and hotel employees. Ocean City is such a beautiful and serene place to vacation with my family and I am now upset and totally disgusted of the fact that nobody with authority is taking action to rid the town of corruption at its police dapartment and hotels.
I am astounded of the atrocities and am dumbfounded as to how such a primitive, dictatoral, and oppressive local government exists in a city in my state of Maryland. Somebody please enlighten me and tell me, how can this be!?
What an absoulte disgrace and shame!

Anonymous said...

This information is very disturbing, the judge has said that that an arrest was made because she was annoyed! This guy lost his freedom, was put in jail because he annoyed her, the judges words. The judge was that Dipino was arbitrary in pursuing Davis, he calls her actions, repugnant said the arrest was made on the basis of her personal bias. Furthermore the judge says that Davis was arrested in violation of his right to free speech and expression. Last he says that no reasonable officer would believe that the information that she wrote in het charging papers was sufficient to establish probable cause!

What happens when she gets annoyed a an officer, I think we have all found out by reading the comments. Tell the truth...apparently the judge didn't think so. I really don't know what else to say, as a previous supporter I to now agree that we have to make a change.

The impact this blog has had on corrupt politicians and govt officials is amazing. As an OC resident I am glad that you covered this story. It needed to be told and I had no idea this stuff was going on in town. It's bad that the Daily Times is misquoting Mr. Campbell and that the other blogger is criticiaing him for talking to you. Thank you for holding corrupt people accountable. Maybe WBOC will cover this story in 2012 after they show another story about a new type of dog shampoo

Joe -- the city manager (mayor acting as it now) meets with department heads every Thursday, so there's no news there. For the record, he is standing behind the chief.

Andy Berges said...

Thank God Joe, hopefully Meehan will step up to the plate and do what's right & make necessary changes that are long overdue for Ocean City's hard-working employees and us "commoners."

As far as ANON 1:49, I can relate to what you are saying. After living in this area for 4+ years now, at times I feel like I'm living in a "Twilight Zone" episode and at other times I feel like I'm on an episode of "Punk'd" or "Candid Camera" and look around for Ashton Kutcher or Allen Funt to jump out at me to tell me that this was all a TwIsTeD practical joke.

Anonymous said...

I expected more from our mayor and council. Not please with the lack of a response and so far zero comment or action. The conclusion is that THEY support this type of conduct, voters will remember!

Anonymous said...

Andy, he said Joe stands behind her, thank god he stands behind her, I don't understand.

The right thing is to correct this problem and so far I hear a lot of crickets. No response is telling and indicates how big the problem is.

Fact of the matter is when you give police their own right to up hold everyone else to the law then they become the powers that be. If there is no one regulating police work other than POLICE then it would logically make sense they would help each other out right? Cover ups, illegal arrests, and down right breaking the law by the same people sworn to uphold it is all too familiar. There has to be a call for some other way to regulate polioe and their work, I agree with the notion that there should be a civilian review board for the police.

JoeAlbero said...

anonymous 2:08, you're wrong. The meeting was about Joe Albero and the press they're getting on this story. It has been confirmed, it's a fact.

Anonymous said...

I'm afraid 2:08 is correct in the statement the Mayor stands behind the chief. From the beginning, sad to say, I have felt this will run it's course and no changes will be made. I just hope that the citizens make the needed changes through their votes at the polls when the time comes.

Anonymous said...

Mayor and council = cowards. Not excuse! Sad but you are right 3:58.

So to understand you correctly Joe, they are not meeting to discuss the awful situations at the PD but to discuss your blog, press and damage control. That is so sad!

Anonymous said...

First, I really admire Earl Campbell. He is a real man, looking after his 4-legged partner - yes, PARTNER! God bless you, sir! and your family! and Charlie!

The OC govt. from the police on up need to apologize! and make good on this! The K-9 officer deserved his operation because he earned it with his service! As a taxpayer, I'd gladly have seen my money go for that instead of the self-serving waste it does.

Next, the Daily Times is one sorry excuse of a newspaper. They just used Mr. Campbell and this fine dog to take a shot at this blog. WHO CARES about the newspaper's vendetta against this blog and its owner? I sure as hell don't. The story should have been about the officer resigning, the dog and the crummy treatment. END OF STORY!!!!

Stop buying that newspaper, cancel your subscription and stop clicking on it. They attack anybody that isn't part of their little club of annointed ones. The legal ads and classifieds may support them, but without circulation numbers, they'll have nothing!

As I have advised many times on this site - my advice stands - stay out of OC. The corruption is rhampant and they will try and find everyway to fine you, fee you, until one day you will look into your wallet and there won't be anything left to pay for your way back west across the bridge.

If it were not for SBYnews - all of this would have been 'brushed under the rug'. Any reporter worth their salt will tell you that 'Freedom of Press' trumps censorship, and OC has engaged in censoring information time and time again - at least up until SBYnews arrived on the scene. And believe me - the council members are discussing this event as I'm writing this post.

Time to get Salisbury News into some sort of print? You will owe me for this one.

Reference to 1:43 Posting

1:43 post said; 'OC is such a beautiful and serene place. . . '

My response - there are also many a beautiful women - but that doesn't justify them being in the prostitute business.

I agree - it is a shame for the Town of OC to have embarked upon a Sodom & Gamorah pathway - but it is what it is. I to have realized that OC is corrupt - especially after the Worcester county tax assessor came into my newly remodeled residence and requested (2) forms of ID - 1. Voters Registration card, 2. Copy of W-2 form to verify that I was in fact a Worcester county full time residence. You might ask as to why did they request this info - and she informed me that in order to anchor my property tax assessment to 2% limit that I had to verify that I was, in fact, a full time residence otherwise - I would have to bare the full brunt of increase in property valuation.

WHAT AN ABSOLUTE SCAM!

Andy Berges said...

I sincerely pray to God and hope for Ocean City's & Worcester County’s hard-working employees’ & commoners’ sake & welfare that ANON 2:58 & 3:08 are wrong and that Meehan and the "Council" are discussing solutions to remedy HUGE problems that exist in O.C. (which have existed for decades & DECADES) and that they take corrective measures to fix them RIGHT NOW, rather than "huddle up" behind closed doors figuring out some sort of way (as they have done for DECADES as well) how to sweep this corruption under the rug and how actors such as "Rodney To The Rescue" can save this “sinking” town that is drowning in the Atlantic with its misleading advertising campaign to lure tourists into spending MILLION$.

The so-called Elite & “Powerful People” (especially the ones who possess “Delusions Of Grandeur” that “THINK” they are immortal and superior beings compared to us “commoners”) in this area need to WAKE UP and realize that the “Caveman Mentality” of OPPRESSIVE tyrannical RULE inflicted upon the residents & Stone-Age days of the “Fred Flintstone Era” of running a town in the U.S. are looooong gone & it is crucial that ALL Marylanders, as well as Americans nationwide be aware of the FACTS transpiring in this area.

It is URGENT that corrective measures be taken IMMEDIATELY and I have contacted many friends, members of the media & other organizations on "The Other Side Of The Bridge" and beyond who were EXTREMELY naïve of the “goings-on” in this town. They are absolutely astonished & THUNDERSTRUCK regarding the corruption, so WAKE UP Meehan & “Council” because CHANGE is inevitable and happening NOW as I write, so whether you like it or not is…TOO BAD! The time is NOW to adjust and learn to EMBRACE change…FOR THE BETTER of Ocean City's, as well as the rest of Worcester County's, residents.

Officer Earl, I will beg to differ with the opinion that you are not to be addressed as "Officer". Ex presidents are still presidents, and so on down the line. The very fact, as an employer, (sorry, not in your field) that I am reading you and your opinions and the public's approval of your actions makes you the most employable person in law enforcement! This is your resume, and it's top end! As soon as you heal, and maybe before, you will be employed in a first rate job. As an employer reading this, you will have your choice of jobs in law enforcement.

Andy Berges said...

Hey Beezer...I sure do wish I would have met & had a conversation with you about this area 4+ years ago. I was VERY naive of the brutal conditions that exist in this county and would have taken heed to your advice and not have wasted a HUGE chuck of my PRECIOUS life working at a "glamorous" oceanfront hotel being treated like a DOG/PRISONER & while working in a CrAzY, illegal & unfair work environment being productive & helping them earn a TON of $$$ while the GM who gets a $25k/year BONUS (while its employee raises are PUNY, if not NIL), FREE MEALS at the hotel as well as a HUGE check EACH & EVERY month...just for driving to work.

Take Beezer's, and now my, advice Marylanders on "The Other Side Of The Bridge" & others nationwide....DO NOT move your family here. You WILL regret it. TRUST & believe me & Beezer...the ocean is NOT worth it! You & your children will in fact be misled and SUFFER. As an employee in this town, you will only be taken advantage of in ways comparable to a slave by many (not all) employers so if you work here your physical & mental health will deteriorate RAPIDLY & you WILL BE OPPRESSED!!!

Anonymous said...

Mr. Albero, you are definitely an asset to our community. We are appreciative. May all your works please you in the gate!

Anonymous said...

I agree with 8:29. I do not always agree with Mr. Albero's opinion but he will not always agree with mine either. That's o.k. though because I enjoy a productive debate among people as long as it is conducted in a rational and respectable manner.
If it was not for Mr. Albero's news site many people on the Eastern Shore and others nationwide would be clueless to the ongoing corruption that has existed in the area for many years. Other media sources fear and avoid broadcasting some of the terrible news. My theory is that they do not want to scare tourists away since they are the ones that generate most of the revenue for the area.
I have resided in this region of Maryland for many years now, Critical issues on the Eastern Shore, particularly in Ocean City, are in dire need of being resolved. The sooner the better. Some type of checks and balances is desperately needed in order to enforce the law and avoid corruption among the local government. It seems as though it is conducted in an oppressive manner and that their main concern is generating revenue for the town. How local residents and workers are mistreated seems to be unimportant and irrelevant to local officials unless they are friends, family or wealthy business owners. My theory is that they think they can get away with the corruption since Ocean City is a remote area located far away from Maryland's capital and more populated areas.
I suggest that the non-local property owners who are levied a substantial amount of taxes each year have a say in many manners. They generate much of the revenue that pay a large percentage of salaries of many incompetent and corrupt officials. Mr. Meehan seems to have a firm grasp on the Mayor position in Ocean City. Nobody ever runs against him for the position during the elections. I am not sure why that is but that is what I mean as far as the dire need for checks and balances. The town’s city council has weak competition as well. Many of them are extremely wealthy business owners whose interests are selfish. Its residents, workers, and property owners seem to be unimportant to them.
This terrible news detailing the corruption is now out in the open for other Marylanders and people nationwide to be enlightened of. After watching the corruption for many years now, I hope appropriate measures are finally in progress to eliminate it, once and for all.

How long will it take for some discipline action on the PD and what should we be looking for? Does the mayor think this will blow over? If you do a google search you will see how meehans daughter was allowed to get out of arrest by the ocpd just because she was the mayors daughter, once again the "good ol' boy system" at its best. So if the chief did the mayors family this favor what lengths will the mayor go for the chief?

As a previous member of OCPD and a higher ranking officer, this whole situation is not unexpected but is deserved by the Ocean City government. Those in power ( Mayor and City Council) were warned about Dipino's appointment as chief prior to the final decision. Since his name hasn't been mentioned, then Mayor Jim Mathias was partially responsible for this farce.

At the time of her appointment, she was EXTREMELY FAMILIAR with the City Council MEN. Her appointment was also made so that the higher paid, more experienced officers would resign, thus saving the city money in the way of salary and benefits in the police department. The government should now add up the amount of money Dipino has cost the city in litigation costs, lawsuits and payouts. I'm sure the city would have saved money by not making her chief.

This axe (Dipino) has sliced off much needed experience throughout the department and especially in the command staff. The knowledge and experience lost with the loss of so many previous officers has come at a high price paid by citizens and visitors to Ocean City.

I live in OC and am sick of reading all this negative publicity about OCPD. Chief Depino costs us taxpayers hundreds of thousands of dollars in civil suits. She is a political hack that never should have been given her position. How many votes of No Confidence by the rank and file do we need? Every year she remains on the job, more bad promotions occur that damage OCPD's future. When is enough a enough. Does the Jay Hancock sexual remark make her untouchable? Lets do the right thing and fire Depino. Offer Officer Campbell his job back. Create an asst Chief position. If we had a public hearing and give officers immunity to speak thier minds we would wonder why this has gone on soo long.

When Nixon resigned the presidency, he was still President Nixon. And so it goes down the line. Far from President Nixon, Officer Campbell is a class act.
