Black Caucus To Submit Legislative Redistricting Maps This Week, Seeking More Black Senators

Map it by race, map it by income, map it by party lines; racism being promoted daily by our "representatives". Why not just map it by populations of areas like the CONSTITUTION requires?

they're always trying to get something else based upon race. I'm sick of it.

12% of the population in complete control of the rest--and leeching them dry.

8:12, the 12% figure you cite might refer to the percentage of Afro-Americans in the US, but the article is about Maryland. The black caucus does have a point in that 30% of Maryland is Afro-American, making it one of the highest African-American populations of any state; however, only 17% of the State Legislature (both houses) is Afro-American (I am using the National Conf. of State Legislatures website for the 17% figure and the census figures for the demographic makeup of MD). I am white, Republican, and fairly conservative, but I also believe in fairness. I am thinking of how I would feel if I were African-American.
