Get a What? A Job? 70% of Occupy Wall Streeters Are Employed, Compared To 56% Of Tea Partiers

A new infographic posted on the Dangerous Minds blog shows some striking differences between the Occupy movement and the Tea Party. The movement is younger, more politically independent, less wealthy and, unfortunately for all of the folks crying laziness, MORE EMPLOYED.

According to the graphic, pulled together by Accelerated Degree, 70% of Occupy Wall Street participants are employed, taking the wind out of the argument that protestors are lazy, free-riding hippies with nothing else to do. Many of the movement’s most staunch supporters go protest and occupy AFTER WORK.

The "Ocuupiers" are stupid, even though there are college professors, economists and CPA's among them. There goes THAT argument. They are lazy socialists, even though MORE of them are working than the "patriots" of the Tea Party. Damn, another slander shot down. There are only a few dozen actually protesting, but when the media shows video, there are HUNDREDS, if not thousands. ANOTHER piece of propaganda crushed by the facts. The people in charge (banks, police, corporate CEO'S who are bribing Congress every day to get their pet projects pushed thru, and the wealthy, who just can't seem to believe that a family forutne of 50 BILLION dollars is NOT enough, are becoming more afraid every day. The Gravy train, fueled by theft, greed, and total disdain for not only the Constitution, but for the people themselves, is in danger of derailing. How's YOUR 401(k)? How is the equity in your home doing? How much is your CD at the bank paying? One percent? The bank is loaning YOUR money out at 21%! How is your retirement looking? Cushy and full of fun? And what are the armed agents of the rich (the Stasi, aka: police) doing? Beating unarmed kids and women with nightsticks, shooting tear gas canisters at the heads of military veterans, pepper sraying confined and restrained women while they laugh at their obvious pain, and throwing flash grenades at civilians. The glutonous powers who have raped and pillaged the middle class don't want to surrender the riches and power too easily, do they? How's my syntax?

Look you commie professor..The problem is not the evil corporations and banks that are the evil ones..In a captialistic society these corps are thier to make money thats the bottom line. Its the politicians allowing this rape to happen to us via the un-checked greed. So their approach to protesting is wrong...The diff is the tea party took the fight to DC were it belongs..They OWS goal is to nationize all corporations and banks. If that what you want then move overseas to were you would feel more in sync with your kind. the new police state is another result of us allowing our gov to run amok with patriot acts, and fatherland security & agency after useless agency whom do nothing but eat up tax dollars

Where do I start with you, you high school dropout? I'm pretty sure I mentioned Congress being the whores that corporations shower with gifts, to the great detriment of the "people". Secondly, DON'T confuse (or praise) unmitigated greed with capitalism. There IS a difference. Thirdly, the OWS "goal" is not to "nationalize" all corporations and banks, no matter how badly you wish to frame it in that context. They are (notice the difference between "their", "there", and "they're", dear dropout, AND the different spellings), quite fed up with, and rightly so, of banks taking BILLIONS from the taxpayer in "bailouts" (authorized and legalized by our "leaders")and then paying their executives millions in bonuses (?!). I missed that part in my study of capitalism. And from your post, I'm assuming YOU missed it, too. And finally, but not in the least, my "kind" are lifelong employed, law-abiding, taxpaying, voting, family-raising, military veteran and proud of it, and (here's something just for YOU) educated. We resent powerful corporations lining the pockets of so-called politicians, who then give away our hard earned dollars so the banks and coprorations can take even MORE of our money. And, sadly, YOU seem to think thats pretty cool. And who can say where protests end? MAYBE they will end in armed marches on the leeches in D.C., so don't be so quick to castigate (I'll wait while you look it up) people who, at least, are involved.

These OWS fools are just Obama supporters desperate to be involved with whatever is currently cool. And just as with the Obama campaign, it is all theater and catchy phrases. "Hope & Change" is now "Occupy fill-in-the-blank". Any idiot paying attention can rattle off a litany of inequities and problems currently facing this country. But what solutions are these people proposing? I could get behind serious dissent, but all I see are a bunch of freaks shitting on the sidewalk and stealing from one another.

I see so you can’t resist to prove how your over educated mind clouded with liberal mind warp is going to drink the OWS cool aid and ponder on my lack of grammar skills. The people who comment on here about people’s grammar are pompous egotistical buffoons. Who tend to be over educated and stuck in their little leftist fantasyland? Who get off on pointing out irrelevant facts to the less articulate among us...That’s Ok because I have not spent my life in a classroom? Anyway
I would rather stand with an armed Tea Partier then an OWS closet socialist. He is more in line with my way of governance, allot less of it (oh no did I just write a run on sentence or is that a fragment, if only my fifth grade teacher could read me now) I do have a college degree by the way pay allot of taxes and have worked since I was 14. I’m now 51 and my 401 k is sucking wind right now. My concern is with the current leftist approach to the problem, an over overreaching government going against our constitution, our freedoms and bill of rights, and politician’s local / national keeping common sense out of the equation. I see freedoms and opportunities being taken away supposedly for my own good. Well I did not serve my country for 8 years to bow down and bend over for my own government or some lazy wanna be. I don’t want to eat the rich. I want to be one, I want to live in America were it can happen and that’s all the hope and change I need; however it seems everyday we come a step closer to becoming some form of a big social failure. Well from my perspective this whole mess is due to WASHINGTON not a bank or company whom we all depend on one way or another. The OWS protestors are in the WRONG place. They need to be up the asses of the corporate paid slaves and closet communist we send to DC. They have robbed us blind imposed dam near Marshall Law on citizens of this country with blatant disregarded for our constitution, legacy and country. It was sold down the river a long time ago. Our morals left somewhere back in the 60’s. It’s just a matter of time that the globalist will achieve their goal of a common currency and continue to enslave us with their diseased financial system. Unless we the people take our government back…stop this tag team wrestling match with the political scene, but the OWS is not the avenue to achieving that goal

One that readily comes to mind is to end corporate influence in Washington.

Well from my perspective this whole mess is due to WASHINGTON not a bank or company whom we all depend on one way or another.

The banks and companies are IN Washington, calling the shots most of the time. The idiots in Washington listen to them, take their money and do what they are told.

Unless we the people take our government back…stop this tag team wrestling match with the political scene, but the OWS is not the avenue to achieving that goal

Isn't that what the protesters are trying to do? Inbetween getting arrested and assaulted by the police who serve at the rich man's whim?

They are in fact doing SOMETHING. You and others put them down and ridicule them while you are doing what?

Most people want to be rich but most have too much of a conscience to do the things that must be done to become rich.

Most times the very rich are void of morals, ethics and any compassion for their fellow man. ( Unless of course it is tax deductible)

If you can lie cheat and treat everyone you meet as crap, you may well have a chance to become like them.

I would rather not be rich if that's the price I would have to pay. I have to live with myself.
