City Wishes Citizens A Joyous Holiday Season

Mayor James Ireton, Jr. is excited to announce the annual tree lighting ceremony in downtown Salisbury will take place during 3rd Friday, on November 18, 2011. The program will begin promptly at 5:30 on the Government Office Building (GOB) steps with performances from Cathedral of Love Ministries Children’s Choir, the Liturgical Dancers from St. James AME Zion Church: Youth, Angels and Rising Angels. Moves of Praise will also perform.

Santa will be stopping by for our tree lighting which will occur at 6:30. He will be escorted to the GOB by the award-winning James M. Bennett Drumline and brass section. After Mayor Ireton and County Executive Pollitt announce the lighting of the downtown holiday tree, Santa will stroll down the plaza to the City Center building where he will stay for the remainder of 3rd Friday for children to stop in and give him their wish list for Christmas.

The Government Office Building will have the blue candles in the windows, facing Route 50, to honor those fallen officers that ultimately lost their life serving and protecting.

Sounds good, esp. the blue candles.

I'm so sick of Jimbo's press releases. He lies for the newspaper, gets caught and thenn tries by sending out a "happy" one. I was in the Bennett Jr. Band way back when. This was always a fun and exciting event.

Ditto, 3:02 p.m. I saw this and puked. He savages innocent hard working councilwomen like a coward with lies in the paper, then puts this out to show how he's still "a nice guy."

Phony POSer.
