You need to know this. Today is a big day for the Occupy Wall Street movement – as members from several prominent labor unions are expected to take to the streets in solidarity with demonstrators who’ve been camped out in New York City since mid-September.
Unionized transport workers – teachers – and nurses are all expected to be on hand for a march across Manhattan today – and similar demonstrations will be held elsewhere around the nation. The “occupy” movements have now reached the attention of some of the nation’s top politicians and policymakers. Federal Reserve Chairman Ben Bernanke said in response to the ongoing protests, “I can’t blame them.” However the top Republican presidential candidate – Mitt Romney – called the movement “dangerous” – saying it’s “class warfare.” Then again – he gets most of his campaign money from Wall Street – so he kind of has to say that. Whether Mitt Romney – the corporate media – and the banksters like it or not – Occupy Wall Street isn’t going away anytime soon. At least not until we see some major reforms to our “for the rich, by the rich” economy.

Joe as a person with money which you made and earned through hard work, how do you feel about all this?? I am not as well off, I work everyday as well as my husband and these protesters have me pissed off because they feel as thought they should be handed everything free of charge on a silver platter. My fears are that martial law will be enacted, screwing us all not to mention the economic fall out bound to happen as a result.
this event is not grass roots, it is planned and supported by the progressive movement and will now be supported by the unions. it is designed to create the very chaos that will require martial law. wake up america
Anon 8:39 - I don't understand why you think these protesters are expecting everything to be handed to them free of charge on a silver platter.
Apparently you don't know much about the protests.
I have a feeling there are going to be a lot more protests in the future.
This country, the working class, like you and I, for the most part have had enough. This is about corporate GREED, not gimme, gimme!
A revolt is coming in this country.
I think the protesters should not only be aiming their anger at Wall Street, they should be aiming it at Washington, DC as well because the GREED in Washington has also helped to put this country on a downhill slide.
Who's paying and will continue to pay for the downhill slide? The working class. In the meantime, the rich will continue to get richer off OUR backs!
They have the freedom to assemble. Don't like the message, pay no attention.
There was no attempt to disrupt MLK's freedom march or the million man march. What's the problem?
