Md. To Issue Fines For Posting Signs On Roadways

WASHINGTON -- Got something to say? Be careful where and how you say it, or it could cost you.

You can still express yourself, just don't do it by planting a sign along the roadway in Maryland.

A new law targets those signs that pop up like weeds along roads and in median strips. The ones that advertise everything from a "miracle weight loss" product to local dating sites. Starting in January, anyone who posts a roadway sign will be fined $25 per sign.

This "rule" has been in affect in Wicomico county for some time. Our organization had our banners picked up by the state roads dept. several years ago because we had put them in the median.
That's when we were made aware of it. They gave us back our banners though, which was nice of them.
