Yes, I think the Whitehouse staff in Obama's administration should be covered by these laws......Oh, wait....I misread the post. I thought is said "ninnies"
First of all who is supposed to watch the children while the nanny is on a break? And what exactly are we talking about-a babysitter or a nanny? A babysitter is usually paid by the hour and goes home at night.
A nanny is salaried, depending on what perks are provided with the job, such as room and board, meals, a vehicle and gas, vacations taken with the employing family.
My nanny is live in. I am a busy woman and so she lives here for free, gets great meals, and a small salary. It's worked for two months so far, and she is great with my son and midnight feedings if I pump out first. She has a great place to live, all the food she could want, and is totally in love with my child. As a single professional parent, it's a win win for all of us. A small child should never have to be torn from his crib every morning or hauled around.

Yes and for mommies too.
NO. If nannies are watching children you do not get breaks.

nope, you get what you can negotiate
dont like the pay/benefits, dont take the job
So we would have to hire another nanny to watch the children while the first is on break!?

There is a law already. Check Wage & Hour Laws.
WE have too many laws now why do we need more?

Hire another person to watch your kid while the nanny is on break??? Here's a crazy idea, spend a little QT with your own child.
Of course not!
No! When the "kids" are in their crates resting, then the Nanny gets a break!
