As narrators used to say in Western movies: "Meanwhile, back at the ranch..."
Our policymakers in Washington have totally lost sight of what's happening at the ranch. John Boehner's GOP-controlled House and Barack Obama's White House have agreed to slash trillions of dollars from the federal budget, as though that's America's most important need.
Bovine excrement! If they'd lift their vision to the countryside, even they could figure out that our great economic urgency is for the creation of good, middle-class jobs to get America moving again — moving upward and moving together.
Today, we are a dangerously disunited society. Elite CEOs and big investors are grabbing all the gains, leaving the vast majority mired in recession and facing falling incomes. Since the recession technically "ended" 18 months ago, corporate profits have zoomed, sopping up an unprecedented 88 percent of America's economic growth. Meanwhile, only one percent of the growth that we all help produce has gone to wages and salaries, the primary sources of income for 90 percent of us.

Hits it right on the head. But misses a few key details. Idiots on the right swear it's all about taxes (as if they weren't hiring and making plenty of money before the Bush tax cuts). Also throw in that "disunity" should not be a surprise when comparisons to Hitler, terrorist, and traitor are bandied about quite readily when can't seem to effectively argue the merits of their political position.
There is NO CUT IN THE BUDGET!
The Federal budget goes up 8% every year for teh next 10 years.
The increase in spending is 10 trillion. The only "cut" is a very small slowing of the increase.

If they would just freeze the budget at the current level it would count as a 10 trillion dollar cut.
AAhhhh, but "the "system" is working, according to some world-class dolts on this site. And to think otherwise is to be a traitor, according to those same dolts. Where ya at now, dolts?? Still licking the hand that feeds you, holding yourself up to be a great citizen because you suck up every stupid piece of propaganda that is fed to you and click your heels at every command given you. THAT doesn't make you patriot. In ANYONE'S book.
