Democrats Trying To Blame The Tea Party For S&P Downgrade

I'll make this brief. Perhaps, (sooner than later) democrats will be thanking the Tea Party for making democrats be accountable for their out of control spending.

S&P executives openly stated that one of the reasons they downgraded the AAA rating was because our politicians just want to point fingers and NOT concentrate their time resolving this crisis.

So let's see what our readers have to say through comments. Do you actually feel it is the Tea Party that is to blame, or do you think BOTH republicans and democrats are to blame.

It was the Tea Party branch of the Republican party that caused this by digging in their heals and refusing to consider anything but their selfish way.

If anonymous really believes that by demanding that the government lives within its means and that job stifling taxes are not imposed on job creators the TEA Party is responsible for this, then maybe he's right. Personally, I think he's nuts.

Congress has been robbing the tax payers and destroying this Country for their selfish gain long before the Tea Party showed up.

I am in total agreeal with Rick. 2:38, YOU and YOUR type are the reason why this country is in the current situation that it is in. Every elected official in Washington had a hand in this. Perhaps if the DUMBocrats hadn't been so pig headed, this situation would never have arisen. Remember, every time you point a finger at someone, you have at least 3 pointing back at you.

Obama is such an a$$. all he does is blame everybody else for what he messes up.

Idealogues, whether from the right or left, are the cause of this mess. On side screams about taxes, although under historically low taxes they are sitting out of work and no one is advocating to raise the taxes of a vast majority of workers. On the other side, they actually believe that the major entitlements are affordable, despite the math that shows the contrary. And both idealogical poles work to quickly discredit or demonize those who point out the fallacies within their arguments. Top it all off that the American public (including many of you on this blog) are too intellectually laze to go out and find the truth yourselves; you would rather soak up whatever the cute face (Palin/Bachman) tells you to believe.

Perhaps you would do yourself a favor and learn what the multiplier effect is.
When you raise taxes on those that are left working, the revenues to the government will GO DOWN

Obama hasnt taken the blame for anything he has done in office. Its always Bush or the republicans fault. After 2 1/2 years in office he hasnt realized his policies suck. The only blame he has taken was the killing of Bin Laden.

Anonymous 3:04 failed to mention that nearly half of all Americans don't pay any federal income taxes. Maybe that's part of the problem. Too many free lunches and a growing number of unmotivated underachievers not willing to pay their fair share.

Obama is a gifted orator who loves the job and lets Pelosi and Reid do the work. They all get an F for their handling of the financial crisis that we face in this country. We need leadership that builds bridges between Democrats and Republicans insead of burning them down. We need to cut waste and put people back to work instead of just sitting back and collecting a check.

The Tea Party certainly isn't at fault. They don't get to vote on any spending bills or budgets. For that matter, the (Democratic controlled) Senate hasn't even put a budget together for over 2 years. They didn't even have a roadmap of what money should be spent on. Were Republicans also responsible for the over spending? Of course they were. That's the main reason Delaware voters threw Mike Castle out of office. Here's a case where a Republican got replaced by a Democrat because he was further to the Left than many Democrats. Looney Coons was no prize but the worse of two evils is finally gone.

Blaming the Tea party for the deal Obama signed is like blaming the PTA for poor student performance. Obama had a super congress and got nothing positive done the people voted in republicans to stop his crazy spending. Typical democrat spin they can never take responsibility for their policies.

For those that are pointing fingers at a group of Americans dedicated to being conservative in all ways that we call the Tea Party, I ask you. Are you currently spending money that you do not have? Are you borrowing money that you know you will never be able to pay back? Is there someone stupid enough to lend you that money? If the answer that you are not intentionally placing yourself in deeper debt with this bad economy getting louder everyday, then WHY would anyone advocate a government (your government) to do what common sense tells you it should not do? By going further into debt. Government was intended to not only represent Americans, it was inteded to reflect our position. We are down and spending less everyday and holding on to the money we have saved, if we can. That's exactly what your government should be doing today, and they are NOT. The Tea Party represents not only conservatism but accountability to life and the obligations we make. They hold NO blame for anything that's happened. ZERO!

You guys act like you believe the Congressmen and the President actually make decisions and have power.

They do not.

Until you realize this basic fact, you will continue to get your hopes up only to be disappointed every single time, over and over and over again.

All of them are to blame! the career politician has only one thing on htheir mind, stay in office aslong as I can no matter what. We have not been a government OF THE PEOPLE for far to long. Yes there should be term limits if they can not getwhat they promise the people done in two terms then it is time to give someone else a chance. No more good ole boy networks formed which just keeep it status quo!
