No

We have far more important issues to attend to than this.
I am not against gay unions, allowing couples rights. I am, however against an actual marriage.

Anonymous said...

Hell no only perverts do.

Anonymous said...

No I do not support him in this, and I will not vote for him should he run again...

Anonymous said...

Nope. The term marriage comes from the bible. The bible says it's wrong. If they want to have all the benefits as a married couple I have no problem with it but it should not be called a marriage. What happen to separation of church and state?

Anonymous said...

No!!!

Anonymous said...

Of course! As long as they are happy... who cares??

Anonymous said...

God cares but I bet you don't believe in God so my point probably falls on deaf ears.

No , I'm sure gov. O' Millie and LT. Brownie want the queer votes.

Anonymous said...

They want to be married so they can adopt children and molest them.

Anonymous said...

No...why is he so fixated on gay marriage?

The secular Left has introduced sexual indoctrination and condom distribution to eleven-year-old public school students. It has made the enjoyment of tobacco the moral equivalent of child molestation. It has dramatically increased illegitimacy in America. It has created an entertainment ethos that brings smut and vulgarity into our living rooms. Take an honest look at the values that the secular Left has already succeeded in forcing down the throats of religious Americans. How can anyone honestly confront the changes that have been inflicted by the secular Left and worry about the changes that the religious Right might force down our throats. I contend that the values concerned Christians desire for America are not really changes, but simply the return to an earlier and legitimate status. If you fling an invader out of your land, back over the border he illegally crossed in the first place, you are not guilty of aggression. It is called self-defense. You are worried that the religious Right might succeed in forcing their values onto us? I am worried they might fail, for they are our values too. Or at least they ought to be.”

Anonymous said...

I support the gay marriage proposal; however I do not support O'Malley. ps to 11:46: Gays do not molest children. Most sexual crimes are committed by sick hetrosexuals; don't be so stupid.

Anonymous said...

No - I believe in the bible God said go forth and multiply; marriage shows commitment to propagation; same sex marriage is thus a contradiction. (But I am curious who might come out in celebration of accomplishment if this succeeds.)

Anonymous said...

sure, marry them.
but charge $508 tax on the license.
require annual state certified physical exams for $300.
tax tax tax 'em

Anonymous said...

What is happening to our morals?

Anonymous said...

Yes, it will move Maryland forward.

Anonymous said...

The more left the state moves the worse it gets for tax payers.

Anonymous said...

Does anyone wonder why gay marriage is at the forefront of political matters when our economy is headed for disaster?

Anonymous said...

NO, nor any other of his destructive laws.

Ironshire said...

Absolutely NOT! In fact I do not support anything that he proposes.

And, 11:11 Anon... thankfully he is bound by the two term limit so he can't run again.

I am heterosexual and married. If two gay people get married, it does not affect my marriage one bit. What they do and how they live their private lives is up to them. In fact, I might suggest that it falls under the right "pursuit of happiness". That is what freedom is about. If you have a religious objection, fine, but you should not interfere and force your values on them. After all, if God created them Gay, them he must accept them. Unless, you are dumb enough to believe that being gay is a choice, in that case, your God might be disappointed in you than them.

Anonymous said...

11:36... The pursuit of happiness is all that one should worry about. The world is tough enough. Let people be as long as they aren't bothering you.

Anonymous said...

That's the problem they're forcing their lifestyle/perversion on all of us including impressionable children.

Anonymous said...

Can't we just pass a law to give them a civil union instead of marriage? Can't we protect the sanctity of something for once? If America keeps allowing a few to take God out of our lives, where will we be in the future?

Anonymous said...

We need to take our country back!

Anonymous said...

No!

Anonymous said...

no i dont!its sad to see how many liberals we have in this state and this area.theyre destroying thus country.i guess they want thier sons and daughters to be gay.

Anonymous said...

Anonymous said...

Gays are by definition mentally defective.

"11:36... The pursuit of happiness is all that one should worry about."

We, in Delaware used to have a PED that felt that way. Would you bring to him his pleasure and happiness?

Anonymous said...

3:22 - Amen!!!!! You are right! We NEED to take our Country back!!!!!
I DO NOT agree with O'Malley and of course I did not vote for him!!!! I have a huge problem with gay marriages! It is wrong, wrong, and wrong! It is a disgrace! O'Malley is all about this and he calls himself a Catholic! Please!!!!! What a disgrace to all of us who are Catholics!!!! Marriage is between a man and a woman!

I read all 44 comments to see who wrote the most ignorant one. I knew I'd find one, and I wasn't disappointed. Drum roll....

They want to be married so they can adopt children and molest them.

For your informaion, gay people have no more predilection for molesting kids than heterosexuals do. You need to get some education before venturing forth with your opinions.

Runner-up for ignorance: 5:36. Mentally defective?

And my award for best comment goes to 1:56. Well said.

Based on majority of comments here, the secession of the Eastern Shore would be a great idea.
If the measure passes, I hope that all gay pride parades in the future are held somewhere on the ES.

Anonymous said...

Absolutely NOT

Anonymous said...

No haha I'm starting to think o malley is a gay now

Anonymous said...

Yes, I do support this decision. This is probably the only thing from his tenure that I do. It is not a matter of god, church, or even me to decide who can marry who.
For all of those who believe this is a sin, blah blah..have you looked into a mirror lately? I know so many who are against this for religious reasons, only commit sins (according to the bible) with out a care in the world. This is the pathetic time we live in, to be so judgmental of others. Sure go ahead get a divorce, kids out of wedlock, lying, stealing, the list goes on, but you are the first ones to deny a person/human of loving and committing to another, all in the name of God and while calling yourselves christians. Pathetic you all are.

Do you think if Joe and Jim got married, this would somehow lessen what your marriage is? If you deem this true, perhaps you need to look at your own marriage before judging others.

1:56pm.
As a christian you know, the destruction of Sodom and Gomorrah was the end result of such behavior.
Secondly, everyone is entitled to the pursuit of happiness.
However, GOD created Adam and Eve not Adam and Steve, Stephon or Steward.
I absolutely do no agree with this decision.

Anonymous said...

NO I do not support Gay Marriage, read the Bible and it states that these people will NOT inherit the Kingdom of Heaven!!!!!

Anonymous said...

yes i do

NFW - If you don't call it marriage, you can give 'them' whatever rights you want!

Marriage is biblical - between a man and a woman. Homosexuality is also mentioned in the bible - as an abomination.

The fall of the Roman empire - as well as many others were after this activity became mainstream and condoned as regular activity.

Anonymous said...

It should be a referendum item. Let the people vote, then let the chips fall where they may.

Anonymous said...

Why do people keep citing the Bible on a government/legal question? The basis for our government has always been the Constitution, not the Bible. The question is: Is it Constitutional for two adults to enter into the legally binding contract of marriage? The answer is yes. The government cannot and should not make rules based on religious doctrine.

Anonymous said...

NO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Anonymous said...

6:02
When the brain doesn'r agree with the anatomy, then the brain is "Defective"

How can you argue with that?

Anonymous said...

It;s not about marriage it's about destroying the fabric of the country in order to install a full Marxist government.

Anonymous said...

No.

I would think he would put a little more effort into solving the State's big financial problems and not worry whether two same sex people are allowed to marry. Who cares? Of course, he could tax them and raise some revenue for the State.

Joseph Albero said...

anonymous 8:49, you are kidding me, right?

The entire reason he's agreeing to do this gay marriage BS is for revenue.

Anonymous said...

Yes, I support it.

The government gives marriage licenses.

So all those folks saying marriage is only Biblical or call it a civil union are just fooling themselves. It's also a governmental act.

Let people be. No skin off your nose.

Long-term love and commitment is a good thing as I see it.

This world would be a better place if people would stop trying to run each others' lives and worry about their own.

I'm sure the Christian conservative who shot up Norway and killed children thought he was true to the Bible, too.

Anonymous said...

dont really care about the issue
other then there be no requirement forcing churches to perform the ceremony.

they can have a 'legal' wedding, but not a religious one

Anonymous said...

I support this move by the Governor because it is the right thing to do. However, O'Malley was pretty quiet when this was going on last year. Now he sees all the positives Governor Cuomo got, becauseof his support, and it is a big idea for him. Pretty transparent.

Anonymous said...

I support the the governor.I dare anyone of you folks to find one bible verse were gay marriage is clearly called a sin.Not what the bible says or what you were taught find an actual verse....good luck you wont.

Anonymous said...

No

Anonymous said...

Homosexuality is a perversion and should be medically treated not praised and promoted.

Anonymous said...

As i suspected of the no brains people on this blog...there is no bible verse that says gay marriage and homosexuality are sins and all of you haters should be ashamed of your lack of brains..oh wait maybe actually read the bible for yourselves

Anonymous said...

I say that I do support Gov O'Malley's stance on Gay Marriage. For one, If 2 people want to get married, they should be able to do so without any issues. Second, Who the hecht are we the people to dictate who should and shouldnt get married. Last, I think that Gay Marriage isnt going to effect our way of lives, why should it bother any of you that oppose this matter? Probably can't answer that one anyways!

Let's face it, other states have already or will eventually have gay marriage. Maryland might as well make some money off of this.

Signed,
Christian Straight Man from Wicomico County that says let god do the judging and you worry about you!

I agree with 7:20. I am a very active Christian and a moderate Republican. I have wrestled with the issue of gay marriage for quite some time. I have come to believe that it's the right thing to do to allow gays to marry. 7:20and a few others have already given the main reasons. Since being gay or straight is not a choice, suppose for a minute that you are gay. Should you be condemned to a life in the closet without the joy that comes with a committed relationship? Or should you get married to someone of the opposite sex because that's what society wants, but then be in an unfulfilling relationship? What right do legislatures or voters have to determine how people should live? If, as so many say, you will be sinning and be condemned to hell, why not let God be the judge, as 7:20 asks?
