Maryland Gov. Martin O’Malley (D) touched down in Chicago on Tuesday afternoon and will deliver a speech next month in Salt Lake City, both tied to his role as chairman of the Democratic Governors Association.
In Chicago, O’Malley is attending a two-day DGA policy conference on manufacturing and also raising money for the organization, which works to elect Democratic governors across the country, according to its spokeswoman, Elisabeth Smith.
O’Malley hosted a similar policy conference for DGA donors last month in Cambridge, Md. That one focused on energy policy.

O'Malley is visiting Illinois so he can model Marylands budget and spending after theirs.
Maryland isn't quite as broke as Illinois yet.
