Pit Bulls Kill 8 Sheep, Attack Farmer In Funkstown

FUNKSTOWN, Md. (AP) - State police say a pair of pit bulls attacked 20 sheep at a farm near Funkstown, killing eight of the animals before attacking the owner of the farm.

Police say Joseph Frey encountered the dogs Sunday morning and they chased him to a barn, where he shut himself inside. Frey then called his son, Justin Frey, who shot and killed one of the dogs with a rifle. Justin Frey will not be charged.

The other dog ran away toward Funkstown. It was later found at a home there along with two other pit bulls, and police say the owner was told to keep the animals confined while the case is under investigation.

Police believe the two dogs attacked the sheep throughout the night.

Saw this story on the news this morning. Dogs are owned by White Trash. Young punk had no remorse or any plan to keep control of his dogs. Neighbors are going to have to get "creative" on this resolution.

1029-You're correct. It's scum low lifes who give the breed a bad name.

Well whatever they do they CANNOT SHOOT THE DOG! Many people will be outraged by that.

Take his food stamps and welfare checks away. Make him pay the farmer for the sheep or work on the farmers farm for two years free or take him out to the whipping post and flog him...

Dear 6:27 I had this type of experience in Bivalve, MD. Came home to find 2 pitts killing our goats. As my one son ran to get a gun, I stood there screaming at those dogs and they turned and looked at me with a look I will NEVER forget. I can still hear our pets screaming still see the blood on the goats, and the blood on the dogs mouth. I can still remember having to bury the goats we didn't save. It was awful and the people who owned them never even got a fine. Now on a positive look on Pitts. My neighbor in Salisbury had a pitt and he was the most gentle, sweetest and smartest dog I have ever known. Why because she spent time in training him.

My pit is the most lovable dog I ever had but they are highly sensitive. Mine feeds off of my reactions. If I am crying or get scared he reacts by either licking my tears or preparing the fight stance and moving from window to window looking and sniffing.
