OCEAN CITY POLICE STRICTLY ENFORCE LITTERING AND HANDBILL DISTRIBUTION

As the summer season approaches, the Ocean City Police Department is reminding
businesses that distribution of flyers or stickers as a form of advertisement is unlawful.
Businesses who distribute advertisements, such as flyers or handbills, are in violation of
Town Codes.

The Ocean City Police Department will be strictly enforcing mass flyer distribution
violations. Ocean City residents or visitors who receive advertisements in their doorways, on their vehicles or on their porches or yard, should contact the Ocean City Police Department at 410-723-6600.

Wicomico county should also have a rule against all the signs put on the roadways for such things as mufflers-buying junk cars-old yard sales and all other ads put up on poles and anything stationary.I had one nailed on my mailbox one day a couple of years ago.I also like the little sandwich bags with cleaning service ads thrown in my driveway weighted down with stones. Why isn't all the above littering, pure and simple.Maybe this should be a seperate post.

I live in Ocean City and never have found this to be a problem. I think there are more important things to deal with. Try starting with the nonsense that goes on on the boardwalk.

It's not that this is a problem. It's that this is a competitor to OC selling advertising of its own.

It seems to me the list of what you can't do in OC is 5 times the size of what you're allowed to do.
Is it actually fun to go there anymore?
I'd be afraid of getting fined or a citation just for stepping on the sand wrong.
