Disabled Man Injured During Arrest

WASHINGTON - Disturbing video has surfaced of an arrest outside a DC Metro station.
Two Metro Transit Police officers spotted a man in a wheelchair drinking a beer outside the U Street station Thursday.

Officers say he was injured when he fell out of his wheelchair after resisting arrest for refusing to put the drink away.

Witnesses are telling a much different story.
In a video that surfaced on YOUTUBE, who can hear several people questioning the amount of force used.

"They split him wide open, "one man says.
A distraught woman screams, "He’s in a wheelchair. He's always in a wheelchair. He lives in this block. What is going on?"
The injured man was taken to a hospital with what Metro calls a minor injury. He's now been charged with assault on a police officer and drinking in public.

Cops? Transit cops. Rent-a-cop wannabes.

I expect to see a lawsuit and settlement in favor of the guy in the WHEELCHAIR.

Disability is not an excuse for breaking laws and resisting arrest.

This is why I can't stand the idea of cops. Because they hold all of the power. They want to whoop your behind they will do it, if you so much as say something they dont like you can be arrested for "disturbing the peace". They can use whatever force they feel "adequate" to protect their life and fellow officers. But who holds them to their standard? The courts who side with the police on almost every occasion? I am just tired of police abusing their authority because they can and it is how the country was created. We need a citizen branch of protection so they can regulate the protection of the peoples rights, I am tired of this situation being so one sided. Cops have ALL THE POWER, because they are COPS thats the only reason.
