I just returned from a trip into Delaware and came back via Rt. 13 to the Bypass to Rt. 50.
WaWa and Sam's Club are $3.25 a gallon. This is a complete CROCK! $ .24 cents per gallon difference is border line crimnal!
By the way. It was the Delmar Gordy Tiger Mart that had the bogus gas prices yesterday.

yeah, i dont get how these stations get away with that.
The Exxon on Rt 50 at beaver run has diesel at a nickle cheaper that all the others. So is the station across from the State Police barracks on 13n @ 3.79.
well 20 cents a gallon on 20 gallon is $4. not worth it for most people to drive out of their way to get the lower cost
Joe, I just watched the 5 pm news on wboc. They copied your piece on gas prices.
Royal farms is higher then everybody else in Salisbury this week $3.43.
The Wawa is selling gasoline below cost - which is illegal in Maryland.
The Dough Boys and the Gordy Stores are matching the Wawa. If you follow it, the Wawa moves lower every day and is matched by the Gordy Stores every day. Usually the Wawa is cheaper.
The Delaware prices are NORMAL gas prices.
Wawa does not sell gas below cost... all gasoline suppliers are competitively priced....
anonymous 8:52, are you blind? The photos I've provided were taken within 15 minutes of eachother.
I think what 8:52 ment by suppliers is the ones that supply the gas stations with fuel, not that the gas stations are competitively price. I talked to a relative in Montgomery County today and they said they saw it as high as 3.73 a gallon in some places.
I believe that Wawa and Sams are involved in a gas price war.
Sams is supposed to be priced lower than anyone else, and when they do, Wawa matches or beats `em.
Then Sams tries to beat Wawa, who matches Sams again, and Gordy's finds their customers have dried up, so they join in and there you have it.
The other stations around town are too far away to get involved with this war, so they end up with prices that are much higher.
It just goes to show that they can sell gas for much less if they wanted to.
I thought there was a law that it was illegal for stores to change prices on products after it was placed on the shelves.Only after the product was sold out then the price could be changed. Does fuel fall into this law too? In other words their tanks have to be refilled before they could change the prices.
The farther south you go on rt 13 the more expensive gas gets. from the mall North to at least the Delmar Wawa it is $3.25 and has been at least $.15 cheaper than the south end stations for a couple of weeks now. Drive that strip every day so this isnt really news to me. But if you are heading up that way wouldnt hurt to take advantage.
as a former gas station owner, you cannot sell below the set price. obviously you can go higher, but to avoid larger distributors from raking over the smaller, they set a minimum.
9:24, who sets the price? Who is "they" ?
What gets me is Delaware gasoline is supposedly not as refined as Maryland gasoline but their prices are consisently higher.
Deisel is less refined than gasoline and used to always be cheaper than gas. Now, it's higher than gas.
We're just all being played. That's all!
you can sell gas at anyprice you want, former gas company owner. I remember when the flea market first got gas they had gas for $.99 on christmas. Delaware also has a higher gas tax.
Wawa is a leader in cutting gas prices in any market they are in. They like the big box retails (Sam's, BJ's and some grocery stores) use it as a way to lure in traffic. Example Giant and Shell's discount on gasoline purchases. Wawa has a great store business so they want increased traffic. Gordy is just trying to play with the big boys and probably will put himself into ruin. I have heard from very relaible sources he plays games with the meters that measure the gasoline dispensed and posts lower prices hours before he actually changes the pumps. Acts of a desperate retailer but none the less illegal.
