Challenged with a 100 million euro ($133 million) deficit, one western German city has introduced a day tax on prostitutes to help whittle down its budget gap.
The new "pleasure tax" requires prostitutes in Dortmund to purchase a 6 euro "day ticket" for each day they work, or face a potential fine. The city estimates that the new tax will add some 750,000 euros to its coffers each year.
"Dortmund has financial problems like many cities in Germany," city spokesman Michael Meinders told Reuters. "We considered several sex taxes but this was the most practical proposal."
The new tax went into effect in August but the day tickets have not been available until this week.

As the banker destruction of world economies continues we will see more and more of the degradation of moral standards. Money will be exchanged for "permission" to engage in what has previously been regarded as "immoral behaviors".
This includes the continued encouragement among our youth to engage in homosexual behaviors in order to prevent the birth of "useless eaters" into the world.
The world's elites are ready to dispose of several billion of us. They no longer have a use for us. We need to educate ourselves about their motives and intentions.

11:01 Illuminati. Before you disregard me, RESEARCH IT! You won't look @ things the same garunteed
With salisbury needing money so desperatly why dont the council vote to give a pleasure license on a daily basis and dont forget the johns and pimps. This money could be used to repair the streets and sidewalks so they would have "safe streets" to walk on.
Salisbury could bring in $700,000 dolllars a year for years. This would be 7 times more money that you get out of one firehouse for $100,000
If the prostitutes cant be arrested and kept off the streets they can pay for being there...its a business.
Just say NO to taxing prostitution!
11:31 That isn't right. Then we would be making money off of crime. Basically saying we accept crime and what about the police
