Mom-and-pop megachain Walmart currently pays its staffers $1 extra per hour when they work on a Sunday. But it looks like that policy is about to come to an end for some staffers as the store cuts costs.

Paying a $1 more for Sunday? Really? that is ridiculous. How about just being happy that you have a job and medical insurance. There is absolutely no reason to pay extra for sunday. Management can make reasonable accomodations for religous reasons but working sunday is part of retail jobs. Walmart of course doesn't pay this extra dollar...We do after they add it to the cost of the items I buy there every weekend. Walmart just pay all earned straight time,earned overtime and double time on Holidays and forget the extra dollar
Maybe I will just quit shopping there on Sundays.

Why do I get the feeling you don't work on Sundays?
If you're working on Sunday, then you're probably off one of the other days that I'm working, so what's the big deal?
Extra pay for a Sunday is rediculous! You don't want to work on Sunday, then don't, but heaven forbid, don't just do it FOR THE MONEY and then complain you're working on a religous day.
Some of you people simply amaze me!
Next, there'll be a lawsuit against Walmart for not paying the 1.00 extra - someone will cry descrimination in some form or fashion, you just wait and see.
Like someone else already stated - Be happy you HAVE a job and quit your complaining - a lot of people dont have one! I do, and I'm thankful EVERY day!
I work on weekends for nothing extra. I get other days off. Be happy you have a job

You are arguing in favor of one of the largest corporations in the world - and they want to TAKE AWAY PAY from poor working class people. Don't encourage them!
Why don't Americans side with their neighbors?
Why do working class people jump up and down to defend corporate greed?
What happened to us?
So we shop at Walmart to get the lowest prices and in the meantime we put regular hard working small business owners out of work all across America.
Then, when the evil Empire (China Inc) decides to take away some of the benefits it gives to the poor workers - all the American people rise up to support them!
Ok Walmart. We want you to destroy our economy single handedly. Destroy any hope for competition among retail businesses. And then, while you are at it, pay the employees even less!
Complete annihilation of America is our goal.
People we are killing this country with every purchase we make at Wally World. Use your voices and your dollars to demand that Walmart and other retailers start stocking their shelves with American made products!

And just WHERE in THIS country do you foresee those products being made?
You're probably one of those who has never said a word against companies shipping jobs and factories overseas.
Until we start manufacturing in THIS country again, we're doomed. Doomed into HAVING to buy made in china.
The rich want tax breaks? So let them open up factories and start manufacturing HERE and I'd support BIG tax breaks for them!
