UPDATE: Here's how I feel about this matter. I have made contact with both Maryland and Delaware Authorities on this matter. UNTIL I feel there is a formal investigation on this matter, Salisbury News will go idle until I am convinced someone is going to take this seriously.
I will continue to publish breaking news important to our community but NO ONE in this world deserves this. I have dedicated almost 7 years of our lives to serving this community and it's high times this community gives back. I encourage you to contact our local law enforcement, states attorneys and even the FBI to assure this is immediately investigated to the fullest.
With all the Part 1 crimes going on here on the Shore, this will NOT be taken lightly. Once I feel comfortable enough that law enforcement is doing EVERYTHING they can to protect my Family, I'll be back. I want to warn each and every one of you of the following. My property is PRIVATE PROPERTY and is posted as such. Do NOT attempt to come anywhere near my property or I will defend our lives, period.
I'll close with this. 30 minutes before I received this threatening comment I had received an aggressive phone call from Wayne Barrall. I ultimately had to hang the phone up on him. I had also, (over the weekend) received numerous text messages from John Robinson. That's all I have to say about that. Please, for the sake of a 10 year old child and an innocent woman, contact your law enforcement so all of this can come to an end.

I have been reading this blog for a little over a year now. I understand that everyone has a right to their opinion and I can agree to disagree on alot of things. However, when ANYONE starts to threaten to physically harm someone, this has gone too far. What does this accomplish? It does nothing but prove to alot of people that the ones doing it are no better than the rapist and murderers that are infesting our streets. There needs to be a meeting of the minds that everyone has a right to their own opinion about religion, politics and ways to stop some of this crime but I am very frustrated with all of this stuff going on when we should be helping others instead of hurting them.
I still read your blog, take what I want and throw the rest away. I don't agree with the way people are treating each other. My prayers are for God to cover those that are being threatened and let's learn to co-exist to make this a better place.
I understand life is not lollipops and rainbows but it can't be about hurting one another.

you need to file a phone harassment complaint with the police. That way, if they continue to threaten you by phone, you have a course of action to file charges. But you have to file a complaint first. And, (and I know you've done this), keep the texts as evidence. And if you have caller id, keep the caller id from the phone call as well.
Nothing will be done in Wicomico County without a body, that has been proven. Remember the case with that woman and the Grinch? They were nothing compared to this.

You have said on many occasions if you don't like what you read then hit the red X in the corner and don't come back. Wow. Joe I pretty much can't stand you. But you are always first with the news so I keep coming back. But that is ridiculous, anyone who even threatens something like that needs to be locked up. They are obviously dangerous and sick.
Joe, I along with many others are truely sorry that you have to be put in such a place that you fear for your wife/children/grandchildren/and any family member for that matter because there are very sick people in this world that can not handle the truth or to be told the way things are. My parents always told me don't say anything about anyone that you can not say to that persons' face and do not speard rumors about people because you never know what one may be saying about you. I have also passed this knowledge to my children as well. I have been reading your blog for just over a year now and find it to be more informational then any of our local news and there was a time that you helped us out. I do hope the person or persons that are saying these things are caught & prosecuted.
I don't know how the laws have changed but years ago, 17 yrs to be exact, I tried to have some sort of protection put into place because my ex was threatening to kill me. He was an adult I was a minor and I had suffered through months of extreme physical and emotional abuse which was the reason I left him. Even though I had scars, I did not report the incidences when they occured so there were no reports of the ongoing abuse. When I tried to have a peace order or protective order put in place I was told he could sit at the end of my driveway in a lawn chair but as long as he didn't actually cross on to my property there was nothing I could do about it. After 3 weeks it finally happened, he attacked me again but thanks to his father constantly covering for him he was apparently at home with his father working in the yard.
I spent years fearing him until he showed up at my house 5 yrs ago making comments about my children playing on the trampoline. I looked out my front window and he was sitting across the street, I was DONE so I loaded my gun with every intention of killing him, even if I landed in jail I would finally being done with the fear. He was a coward and sped away as I approached him but it took me showing him I was no longer scared of him for him to leave me alone. The police didn't protect me, the judicial system failed, and I was not about to allow him to impact my children's lives like he did mine.
I hope for your sake and the welfare of your family that the laws have changed, I would assume they have since there is so much attention brought to cyber bullying and the like. Don't allow anyone to have that control over your wife or grandson, you do what you need to do to keep them safe and sort through the details afterwards.

I had a add on sby news, I have had e-mails and and face book postings for about a month now, from JT TM and AH. if you can read the top of Joe's blog it says you either love us are hate us. if you don't love it then don't look at it. as for me I'm going to keep my advertising post on here, because i can see now thanks to some someone who has a beef with Joe wants to try and scare us advertisers , there is only 5 or 10 of them out there and i don't want their business anyway.

My advice would be to get a real good HD video security system since our local police have no crime solving ability unless its one of there own.
The states attorney office will offer no help unless you're the sheriff or a close family member of him.
The state of maryland has no terroristic threating laws on the books but delaware does, so if it came from delaware you are in luck!
Bottom line is... Joe you are on your own here pal. Now if this was a speeder that needs a ticket... busted it would be in wicomico county maryland. Anything major and your screwed.

Investigate for what? That is in no way, shape or form even close to a criminal violation of law. The guy is an asshole, but a threat online is not a crime even if you know who the person is and the threat is more specific.
