West Side Collector Road Ribbon Cutting Today

The completion cost for Phase 1 was $2.8 Million. Funding came from Wicomico County bonds. The 0.6 mile-long Phase 2 will run from Brick Kiln Road to Levin Dashiell Road. The anticipated cost is $1 Million and the Department of Public Works expects an opening date of Fall, 2011. All financing and rights-of-way are in place for Phase 2. Phase 3 of the total 2.7 mile project will run from Levin Dashiell Road to Crooked Oak Lane.

Can you believe the waste of taxpayers dollars with all the county employees there on the clock? Photo op for election year.

Is that a hike/bike trail on the right in the last picture? How much more to the project did that cost?

12:54p I disagree about the photo op. These are the elected officials of our county and they are just doing their duty like they have done in past years, regardless of this year being an election year.

I think you need to walk in an elected official's shoes for one day. You would realize it involves more than just a couple of meetings a month.

I agree with all the county employees there. That was not necessary unless those who were there were responsibile for the work on that road.
