BALTIMORE (AP) - The doctor shot by the son of an elderly patient at Johns Hopkins Hospital continues to progress in his recovery from a gunshot wound to the abdomen.
A Johns Hopkins spokeswoman says orthopedic surgeon Dr. David Cohen is in fair and stable condition.
Cohen was shot Thursday morning. Police say the gunman, 50-year-old Paul Warren Pardus, became distraught after Cohen delivered news of his mother's condition. After shooting the doctor, Pardus shot and killed his mother, then himself.
