Mr. Powell, a moderate Republican, urged his party Sunday to support immigration generally because it is "what's keeping this country's lifeblood moving forward."
In an interview with NBC's "Meet the Press," he said a path to legal status should be offered to illegal immigrants because they "are doing things we need done in this country."
He added: "They're all over my house, doing things whenever I call for repairs, and I'm sure you've seen them at your house. We've got to find a way to bring these people out of the darkness and give them some kind of status."
Mr. Powell did not say whether he's hired illegal immigrants directly or they showed up with contractors.

Fact- Coastal Supply in Pittsville all the Mexicans there, are illegal. They layed off all the English Speaking workers and kept all the Illegal workers, yes they have "papers" but they are fake. How do I know? I was layed off :P
Colon (LOL) Powell is a RINO and not a Republican. If he is hiring illegal immigrants to work on his house he is cheating the government out of fair taxes. He is also not paying them fair wages. Powell is a turncoat and a criminal and should be treated accordingly.

I was watching an episode of COPS on TV Saturday night and they were riding with the Border Patrol near the Rio Grande and I was appalled that the officers were calling the Mexican's "Undocumented." What the heck is this country coming to. My guess is the officers got a memo telling them to call the Mexican's crossing the border "undocumented aliens" instead of "illegal aliens." I am beginning to think this country is lost forever.
I was born and bred right here in America but I have a serious question to ask. How can I become an illegal alien right here in America so I can reap the same rewards that all of the illegal's get? Seams to be I would be much better off than I am right now and wouldn't have to pay for a thing at same time!

Undocumented is a more descriptive and correct term for their status. There's nothing wrong with a federal agent referring to them professionally. Undocumented is WHY they are illegal.

You'll never get a raise or promotion because you can't be on the legit payroll. Your options of where to live are limited because you can't pass a credit or background check and rent an apartment like everyone else. That's what happens when America votes for RINO's and Democrats. The best thing we the people can do is to reach out to the non voters and encourage them to vote. Stress the importance of voting. Pick them up and carry them to the votes. Convince them to vote for the right person. Their voted DOES count!
Colin Powell! Have you no shame? My husband and I are legal Americans with all the proper credentials to work at your house or anyplace else in America. You aren't any better than my former employer who did business illegally right in Salisbury and everyone turned a blind eye that he didn't have the creditials needed to take business away from people who try to follow the rules and the law. Judgements being filed left and right and banks loan money to them because they are friends or relatives. How to you still get to live in a huge house when you don't even own the food you are eating at a restuarant while you abuse credit cards and dump your employees like garbage and you still are considered to be respectible enough to develop and run projects right here. What is wrong with this world. Common deciency is the lasest casulty in the ongoing decay of western civilization.

Hey Ros S. you are an idiot and not intelligent enough to read about the perks our government are giving illegals. I am not denouncing my citizenship. The whole point is the illegals are taking away from us at every turn and our leaders ie; Obama are letting them do it and giving them more every day. There is nothing wrong with legal immigrants however WE THE PEOPLE need to send the rest of them packing back to their home land period! When the Visa's run out on the rest send them packing as well. Close over borders down and put our own people back to work and say goodbye to a whole host of problems.

No matter what perks people say illegals are getting or what advantages you claim they have (which I can't figure out what they are) I still think my life is pretty good and I am not gonna waste my life crying about illegals having it better than me, because they don't.
