GOVERNOR MARTIN O’MALLEY TO HOLD MEDIA AVAILABILITY ON PUBLIC SERVICE COMMISSION INQUIRY INTO PEPCO POWER OUTAGES

ANNAPOLIS, MD – Governor Martin O’Malley will hold a media availability today as the Public Service Commission prepares to begin investigative hearings of Pepco, the Washington area's largest electricity provider, following the third major storm-related power outage in as many weeks. Nearly a half million homes have been without power at one point, spanning three storms since late July, primarily in Montgomery and Prince George’s Counties.

The outages prompted Governor O’Malley to call for a PSC investigation. The Governor’s August 6 and August 12 letters can be seen here.
