There was a student severly beaten on campus friday night. I was told as of Sunday he was still in ICU. He will be needing some sugery to his face when all is done. There are two people the police have an interest in.
Well the campus cops would have been there but they had to guard Dr. Janet's parking place so they couldn't leave.
Very interesting, Just like the pounds of Marihuana and truck loads of alcohol that the campus police throw away without charges, without any press releaeses. The kids are issued administrative fines and probation. That gets the college more money, no bad press and the students keep coming becuase they think S.U. and the surrounding area is safe. By the way don't place the blame on the campus cops, their hands are tied. They are more tightly controlled by the administration then any police agency I have ever seen.
Actually, the school does let the student body know about alcohol and drug related charges through the school newspaper, though I agree it should be made more public.
As for this poor soul who got beaten, I'm not surprised no one heard about it. I'm a student at SU and all I ever hear is about 'great on campus events' not about students being hurt, robbed, or raped, which happens more often then the school would like to admit.
campus cops identifed and charged those responsible for the attack.
10:26 AM, The campus cops do not guard Dr. J's parking space, SU hired Security to handle this.
I heard it was two Parkside graduates named Jacob Ross and Ryan Taylor
Campus police solved this quickly and served a warrent on a local non SU student for the crime. Campus police have a pretty good record for napping bad guys & solving large thefts like the statue.
I am so glad that they did infact catch these 2 dirt bags. and I hope that the court system does not let us down this time, by smacking them on the hands and saying no, no dont do this again. the person that was injured is the upmost decent person and someone that I respect in so many ways. these boys need to be taught a lesson, not just put on a step docket for the next time that they do something wrong. do the punishment NOW, not later. low lifes like this will or already have a record and by giving them another chance to make another stupid decision( not a mistake after you have already made more than one stupid decision ) the community needs to fight for safety in this town. this was someone's son. and it could have been anyone of our children. I am begging that the court system does this victim justice for once and makes the right punishment !!
