Detour On The Wicomico River

Last week I posted an article asking if everyone believed Mayor Ireton had actually made any progress on cleaning the Wicomico River in Salisbury.

Since then, the Daily Times had two articles in Sunday's paper about the exact same question and patted Jimmy on the back for his enthusiasm.

Unlike the Daily Times, we at Salisbury News thought we'd provide an image from this past Saturday where a boat traveling along the river walk had to make a detour to avoid all the trash in the river and turn around and go back.

Now I know there have been budget cuts and we can't just sit around complaining to a new Mayor who inherited such problems but wouldn't it be wise to at least schedule some kind of clean up on Friday's before the Downtown area gets the most traffic.

If I were to personally rate the improvement on the Wicomico River since Ireton got into Office I'd have to say absolutely nothing has changed. Pictures just don't lie.

How do you rich people stand the smell?
On your boat and eating on those outdoor docks, like market street inn and brew river, dont it make dinner a little not so tasty ?
I love the food from both places but i cant eat next to that river.

Just because you have a boat and can afford to eat at the dinning establishments on the river doesnt make you rich, maybe you worked your butt of to get these privlages. Still I cant eat near that river myself.
