A top-ranking, highly decorated officer in the U.S. Army says he's now refusing all orders until President Barack Obama finally releases his long-form, hospital-generated birth certificate to prove his eligibility to serve as commander in chief.
"I feel I have no choice but the distasteful one of inviting my own court martial," said Lt. Col. Terry Lakin, an active-duty flight surgeon charged with caring for Army Chief of Staff Gen. George Casey's pilots and air crew. "The Constitution matters. The truth matters."
"For the first time in all my years of service to our great nation, and at great peril to my career and future, I am choosing to disobey what I believe are illegal orders, including an order to deploy to Afghanistan for my second tour of duty there. I will disobey my orders to deploy because I – and I believe all servicemen and women and the American people – deserve the truth about President Obama's constitutional eligibility to the office of the presidency and the commander in chief.

Just curious, but how many other Presidents showed everyone who asked their birth certificates? If we are going to insist to see one man's birth certificate, then we should have been seeing all of them. Would McCain's birth certificate have been demanded or would we have been satisfied in being told by officials where he was born?
Would this whole "birther" theory been as contentious if his father has been a white British or Irish citizen? The whole issue makes it seem more racially motivated than anything else.

If this military officer is truly serious, the birth certificate will have to be provided as evidence at his court martial.
The birth certificates of previous presidents are/were made available upon request.
You would think anyone with half a brain (President Obama included) would provide a certified copy of a full birth certificate to substaniate origin of birth, showing eligibility for the Office of the Presidency of the USA.
It is such a simple requirement along with being at least 35 years old to be qualified for President of the USA, and it would surely silence the "birthers" and critics.

You guys don't seem to understand that Obama filed the birth certificate that he received directly from Hawaii's DOH that meets all of the U.S. State Department's requirements. But I guess for whatever reason (funny name, skin color, political philosophy; pick one) we should back up the goal posts and make him do more than anyone else to prove citizenship.

The last service member who did this, amazingly had his orders changed. I wonder why. I don't know if he is a citizen or not. I do know he is a radical socialsit that has to be stopped. Part of me thinks not showing his birth certificate allows him to show the birthers as crazy. He has not produced a birth certificate, college transpripts, senior thesis, how did he pay for ivey league education, how did he buy a million dollar house in chicago. There are alot of unanswered questions about this person. Unfortunately all these questions should have been asked BEFORE he was elected. He is very dangerous to what america stands for. Transcripts: last I checked transcripts are not public domain. And I haven't seen a single line in the constitution stating that they are required to prove citizenship.

Listen folks- everyone is missing the point. The birthers have legs because there is a short form called a certificate of live birth. This is not the same as a Birth Certificate. As for the birth announcements, relatives often announce births for someone not living there just like they do for people who die but don't live here anymore. Why are his Transripts important? There is a thought that he actually applied to the colleges he attended as an indonesian citizen and received finacial aid because of it. I just have alot of wierd questions about this guy. I just have concerns about his friends,his pastor, his voting record in Illinois, His cabinet appointments, All his czars,why he took over the car companies,student loans,Ceo Pay,Now the Health care,EPA listing CArbon Dioxide as a danger,Cap and Trade,Amnesty for illegals, his handleing of iran, and many many more. Someone above said that McCain did not produce his birth certificate. They need to go back and look...there was a Congressional hearing on it. McCain was born to American citizens on American soil. Just becasue his family was stationed overseas does not make McCain a non American. Get your head out of your ass and read before you comment. And before you say something like I am a crazy rightist.
