Great Things To Do


A Weekend Full of Great Things to do in Salisbury!

Mayor James Ireton, Jr., will be attending “Great Things to do in Salisbury!” events this weekend. He encourages the community to be a part of these events.

Today, Friday April 16, 2010, starting at 5 p.m. the downtown will be holding their monthly event, 3rd Friday. Come out and show your support for the revitalization of Salisbury’s Downtown.

Tonight, Friday April 16, 2010, at 7:05 p.m. marks the Delmarva Shorebirds Opening Day at Arthur W. Perdue Stadium. With the 15th Anniversary Season in full swing, the team is one win away from reaching the franchises 1,000th win!

Saturday morning, April 17, 2010, Salisbury University will hold their BIG EVENT. University President Dr. Janet Dudley-Eshbach and Mayor Ireton will be kicking off the event at 10 a.m. Over 500 students are scheduled to participate in beautification projects throughout the community.

The grass is being cut, the lines are being put in place, the hot dogs and french fries are being cooked and over 200 kids are anticipating the beginning of the 2010 West Salisbury Little League Baseball Season! Opening day ceremonies begin at 9 a.m. on Pemberton Drive. Games will begin at 10 a.m. and will go on all day long. Don't forget to pick up your Chicken BBQ; the best in the region. Pork in the Park starts tonight at Winterplace Park in Salisbury, MD. The festival is open from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Friday, 10 a.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday, and 11 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Sunday. The Pork in the Park BBQ Festival is sanctioned by the Kansas City Barbecue Society and presented by http://www.wicomicotourism.org Wicomico.

Remember next weekend is Salisbury Festival!

East Wicomico Little League has opening day this Saturday, also. Go EWLL! Let's have some fun and PLAY BALL!!!

Fruitland Little League also starts this weekend....yeah, I know it's not Salisbury, but it is Wicomico County.

Yeah, anon 2:20, I would rather be fishing too, but the weather is not supposed to be so nice and hubby is volunteering all day tomorrow in Fruitland for the Little League.
