ANNAPOLIS, MD – First Lady Katie O’Malley, joined by CEO of Baltimore City Schools Dr. Andres Alonso, will read to first graders at Langston Hughes Elementary in honor of “Read Across Maryland” month, and will encourage participation in the “30 for 30” reading campaign.
The celebration and reading will take place tomorrow, Thursday, March 18, 2010 at 8:15 a.m. at Langston Hughes Elementary School in Baltimore City.
On March 1, 2010, Governor O’Malley kicked off the second annual “Read Across Maryland” initiative, alongside Maryland State Education Association President Clara Floyd. Flags promoting the program have been flying in downtown Annapolis, and the 14 Annapolis-area schools have designated special “Read Across Maryland” reading shelves in their libraries. The Governor and members of his cabinet are joining MSEA leaders for classroom visits and reading assemblies at select schools across the state during the month of March.

I'm ready to see the flood of the "Obamas can do no right" comments to follow.
I wonder who is going to read for her, oh thats right the Secret Service will probably tell her in her ear what to say and when to smile. She is the most miserable women I have ever seen trying to act like she cares.
can you say B-I-T-C-H!
900 It's woman.
9am, I would wager this woman is smarter and more accomplished than you. As someone who through education and hardwork built herself up from her bluecollar roots and became successful BEFORE entering into politics via her hubby, I would think this is a story that we all can celebrate. Oh I forgot, her last name is Obama. Cue the boos.
Reading is a good thing.
