Yes, we got the short form this time. 10 years ago, we got the long form. I did not answer many of the questions then. The short form is pretty simple, and straight forward. Who lives here, and who are they. The government needs to know that, and has the right to ask that. But not the personal questions that were on the long form 10 years ago. I imagine it is even worse this time.

Absolutely! It is going out in today's mail.

Yes

never received one

Yea i answered mine. Boy, they really are interested in how hispanic you are, aren't they?

Joe, is there any truth to the rumor that the Census Bureau will hire folks to seek out addresses that didn't respond, and list all occupants? I hear the Bureau pays #37.00 for each person they record. What a hustle!

Anonymous said...

Yes we got it. Haven't filled it out yet. How much money did they waste sending out the letters a week ago telling us the Census was coming. Not to mention all the tv advertisments.

Anonymous said...

I haven't received one either!

Anonymous said...

yes, is there someone or some organization that will fill it out for me? i don't want to.

Anonymous said...

Working on it

Anonymous said...

I never received one and when/if I do I won't complete anything for this leadership group.

Big Brother is watching !!!

How can you fill it out and mail it now? It asked how many people are living in the house on April 1,2010. You could make a guess, but unless you can see into the future it is just a guess.

Anonymous said...

Yes. I answered the first question only. The rest of it is none of the governments business.

yes

Same as 11:06 am

I, too, only answered Question #1 and sent it in.

Anonymous said...

yes i answered question #1 and mailed it back to them thanks sjd

Did the same as many others. Wrote "2" in the first question and that's it. If someone comes to my door, I'll not open the storm door and simply hold up two fingers and say very slowly "Twoooooo" and nothing else.

In its opening statement, the form says, "The Census must count every person living in the United States." That's what I'm giving them: A count. The U.S. Constitution does not give them the right to ask me if my mortgage is paid, my race, or any other question in the form. Besides, if they really want to know that, they should be able to figure it out.

I answered all, but I checked that we are all black (we are white). If more whites did this, then we could technically become the minority. It would be interesting to see if we would get the minority contracts, scholarships, etc.

Anonymous said...

I checked Other even though we are told we are white . It has become a negative burden being white so I'm switching races as I'm tired of being slandered and discriminated against !

Anonymous said...

yes , sent it in , I am now an African American , from white to black. More bennies!

Anonymous said...

While you "white-to-black" responders are at it, everyone should check "Female" since they clearly have more rights (although I've never been able to figure out how there's more females yet they are called a "minority").

How funny would it be if the census count concluded that the country was made up of 95% females?! :)

OK I want my 40 acres and a mule now !

Anonymous said...

Threw it in the trash.

My census information is already on file, chances are, so is yours! Big brother receives my census information annually, when I fill out and submit my taxes EVERY year. My information has not changed from the time I submitted my tax information, in February, until the time my census letter showed up to my house, in person, by an official census taker, in March.

How 'bout them apples? Someone is getting paid to walk door to door to deliver Census packets in my neighborhood! Hmm, wonder how much that costs?

Gov't sure likes it mexicans...should of asked how many mexicans are illegal in this household..haha = good day for INS.

Anonymous said...

Yup! in the mail

I find it intrusive but filled it out.I am shocked at the casual attitude people have about reporting erroneous information on their form.An accurate census is important or why do it at all?

Anonymous said...

Nope. It is still sitting on the kitchen counter next to the notice telling me I would be recieving a census form in about a week. Why waste the money sending something to tell me they were sending me something??? That is prime example of government waste!

Anonymous said...

If someone comes to my door to deliver, I am sure they will turn around after they see my dog's reaction to them in my ceiling to the floor windows.

Anonymous said...

I would answer it if I got one but never have received one yet.

Anonymous said...

3:07 The government uses the information against the majority of citizens therefore it's my duty to distort the information .After all I thought we lived in a color blind society !

Anonymous said...

of course, why the hell not?

Anonymous said...

Yes. I got the short form this year.

Anonymous said...

Completed and mailed it the next day. Took about 2 minutes.

Bluetojthetotmom or whatever

When the Dumbocrats tell us that between 13 and 30 million illegals are here in the country, it tells me that they only want accurate information on people that will potentially pay taxes and don't really care how many illegals are here.
As far as the "casual" attitude. I am not casual about it.
IT IS NONE OF THE GOVERNMENTS DAMN BUSINESS! Other than how many people are living in my home.
Do you remember Joe the plumber?
He commited the crime of asking Obama a real question during the presidential campaign. As a result all kinds of personal information that was in "Government" computers mysteriously got released to teh press and was all over the world in a few hours.
Governments are made of people. People can be corrupt. The larger and more intrusive the government becomes, the more corrupting the influences are on the people in government.
Obama want to take you DNA if you are ever arrested. What happens to it when you are acquited of charges?
Do you get the records erased?
FAT CHANCE!

We had a census form left at our door. The 5 digits on the house number were right, wrong road, wrong town, wrong zip code. We didn't fill that one out and haven't received another one.

Anonymous said...

Yep. Filled out my name and the number of people living in my house. Thats all. My race is none of their business. The census was developed to determine the number of people in congressional districts so that we can be sure everyone is being represented as designed. (not like we are truly represented anyway). Anything else is non-sense.

Anonymous said...

Farm boy. Why do they need to know WHO lives in your house. Isn't it really just the number of people they need to know?

Anonymous said...

So Joe, it looks like my house is the only one that got 2 of those suckers. I think we will answer both with different answers.

Unknown said...

Yes

I found it humorous that they listed Black, African American, or negro for a race. How about white, European-American, or Caucasian for those of us that are neither black, Hispanic, Native American, Asian. How come whites only get one option? Hispanics had several to chose from as did Asians. That just didn't look right to me. It screamed discrimination. Why doesn't anyone care what European country my ancestors came from?

Anonymous said...

completed question 1 and put my race as american

Anonymous said...

the bottom line is that i do not trust my fedral gov. so I will fill out only 2 questions
