The forecast is calling for a much more active 2010 season with above-normal threats on the U.S. coastline.
"This year has the chance to be an extreme season," said Bastardi. "It is certainly much more like 2008 than 2009 as far as the overall threat to the United States' East and Gulf coasts."
Bastardi is forecasting seven landfalls. Five will be hurricanes, and two or three of the hurricanes will be major landfalls for the U.S.

Didn't they say the exact same thing last year?
They can't correctly forecast the weather 5 days from now, how in the world do they know what will happen in July?
I could put a blindfold on and throw darts and have just as much of a chance of making a correct forecast.

Farmers Almanac is more accurate than forecasters.
They do this kind of crap, and then the friggin oil speculators start driving the price of crude artificially throught the roof. BTW, speaking about oil, when oil prices were so high before, all the libs blamed it on Bush (lol), I guess now we can blame it on Obama. Especially since the price of a barrel of oil has doubled in the year he has been in office. Who's fault is it now left wingnuts?
I'm with you all. They predict the same thing every year. Last year was supposed to be terrible. How many 'canes made landfall in the US? None, I believe.
