Enough information came into the Berlin Police Department today where allegedly a 14 year old girl complained about someone driving through the parking lot, School Officials locked down the School for a brief period of time. A letter was sent home to ALL Parents explaining the situation but the 14 year old girl didn't even belong there, so we're told.
After speaking to the Berlin Police, they simply took precautions immediately, better to be safe than sorry. All is fine though, no one should be worried.

Joe, this occurred at the Berlin Intermediate School (BIS) not to be confused with the Stephen Decatur Middle School ( the school u have pictured). BIS is grades 4,5,& 6. The berlin police were looking for a male, that smelled of alcohol in a black SUV that offered a ride to said girl.
You are correct. I Googled Intermediate School and this image came up. My bad.
The girl did belong there due to the fact that she was there because the high school dismissed early. She was there to meet with her parent and was simply minding her own business trying to get to the school. I think it was wonderful for the Berlin Police Department to be so vigil with this and also the school.

Yes, they REALLY sent a letter home to parents. Why would they make that comment to a media outlet if there were 600+ parents sitting at home reading this that did not receive letters. What a dumb sh*t.
