Date of Occurrence: Monday, January 25th, 2010, at approximately 11:15 p.m.
Suspect(s): Unknown

Resume:
Detectives from the Delaware State Police major crimes division are investigating a shooting that occurred late last night in the parking lot of the Prices Lanes Bowling Alley.

At approximately 11:15 p.m., the DSP dispatch center, RECOM, began fielding calls in reference to shots being fired at Prices Lanes. For those unfamiliar, this location is across the street from State Police Troop 6 on Kirkwood Highway.

As officers were arriving on the scene, they found a large number of people fleeing the area. Initially, officers were unable to locate anyone who was injured; however, a short time later, calls came in from Wilmington Hospital about two shooting victim who had just arrived.

At this point, Major Crimes Detectives assumed the investigation. They began to piece this case together at the scene and learned that prior to the shooting; a rap contest was being held inside the bowling alley. A dispute erupted between unknown parties during this contest which escalated to a fight amongst multiple people. The fight then spilled outside into the parking lot.

During this melee, an unknown person fired multiple random rounds into the crowd and struck two men. One man was hit in his foot and the other in his ankle. Both victims were transported by privately owned vehicles to Wilmington Hospital and their injuries were not considered life threatening.

Detectives have very little information to go on and they have no information regarding the shooter. Anyone with information regarding this incident is asked to call 302-834-2630 ext. 208 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-TIP-3333.

i blame the bowling alley for allowing a rap contest be held inside thier building..the cops have been coming up there every week cause of the wanna-be thugs, and cowards that dont know how to come out and have a good time without bringing the drama and streets life with them..and to bring a gun to a bowling alley;; come on now!!there are kids in there everyday all day and night with their families...when will it stop..??
