Former City Councilwoman Lynn Cathcart has stood in front of the Council numerous times complaining the Sheriff's Department needs to come into the City of Salisbury more often and protect the City.
Lynn has attempted to make it sound as if the Sheriff's Department isn't offering their services enough and states that Salisbury is within the County, so why not help out.
The above is just one example of how the Sheriff's Department does in fact service the City of Salisbury. In numerous conversations I have had with representatives from the Sheriff's Department, they proudly serve the City and would gladly help out in any way, shape or form and once again documents like this prove this to be a fact.

The next time you see Lynn, tell her to try shutting her trap, after you take her foot out of her mouth.

Now let's be honest with the people that are reading this post Joe that might not be familiar with locations throughout the City. Looking at this all of the calls at the 200 and 300 block of College Ave are Bennett Middle and Bennett Sr. which the Sheirffs Dept is responsible for anyway. The calls on Long Av I believe are WIHI and the ones on Beaglin Park Dr and also S Schumaker Dr would appear to be Parkside. Some of the calls listed also appear to be within the limits of the County or State Police because all of Salisbury Blvd North and South are not within the city limits. Just seems as if you where trying to say that the Sheriffs Dept was actulayy responding into the city limits of Salisbury to handle all of these calls and it is just not the case.
The Sheriff's dept. just made a bust at Baptist St. and Rt. 13, in the city limits, that got guns, drugs and thugs off the street.
Maybe this list is too school dominated, but it's still important since many schools are within the city.
Go, Lewis! And thank you. Lynn Cathcart was a boor on council. She's even worse now.
One point you all missed is that 90% of the schools are in Salisbury City. The sheer volume of calls at these schools would cripple S.P.D. If the WCSO was not in the schools SPD numbers would double for assaults and thefts. The Sheriff's Office took on this undertaking over 15 years ago.
Though the numbers would be scewed it catapult S.P.D. into the #1 spot for most violent crimes per capita. If truth be known some political heads saw this years ago and decided to let the #s fall on Wicomico versus Salisbury.
The numbers are playyed with every year. The bottom line is S.P.D. is doing all they can to stop the bleeding. The sad truth is Salisbury has become a ghetto of thugs and drugs. Ted Shea shooter never caught, The Killer of the Shell Station Mr. Chodrey (Sp) never caught. The bottom line is as long as you have a leader that has no stake in the city he or she will just draw a check.
The elected Law Enforcement system works because the Sheriff has an investment in the future, family and friends. Owns a home, his kids go to school here.
If a man has no stake other than financial gain in a battle he will surely fall.
On that note these Muslim Extremeist are killing Americans because they believe in "Thier country and religion" Maybe it is time for America to start kicking ass for what we believe in. Time to take the gloves off here and abroad.

Just for everyone's FYI, the WCSD DOES answer calls in the city. I know this for a fact. The SPD is so short that many times the WCSD does handle their calls for them.

Well SPD is running good cops out of the department. Too many butt kissers and newbies that just got off mommas titty. AND who they have training these newbies is a joke.
