Joe we lived across the street from "Mr Christmas lights" himself Bill M in Pittsville for roughly 18 yrs. I always teased him and Ginger that all I was going to do was put a giant mirror in my yard and call it a day....... :) I'm sure Bill has already started putting out the lights for this year. We would watch him spend the whole month of Nov getting them just right, plotting where everything is going to go... I don't know if anyone but him knows the painstaking time it takes to wrap your entire house with Christmas lights.. well Gin probably does....

Hmmm! Just think, the ditto guy may not know it, but the other house could probably be plugged in his receptacle out back. Ha Ha Wouldn't that be funny!

I have a customer who had a special panel box installed in his garage, with a bunch of quad outlets each with its own circuit breaker. This was to provide sufficient power for all his Christmas lights and displays.

A few years ago, he fell off his roof when installing them. That cost him plenty, as well as having to deal with months of rehab, and a bad back for the rest of his life.

He no longer installs any sort of outside lighting for the holidays.

Rick
He started testing lights in Sept. He's a little behind because of all the rain this year, but he always manages to get it all done somehow.

There was a family across from Beaver Run School that decorated their entire house and yard. You could take a walking tour through the yard and out buildings. It was absolutely beautiful. They had a donation box set up. We always dropped in a few bucks, it was worth it considering the amount of joy we took from it.

I absolutely love the spirit of christmas. You can keep the shopping part, that's not for me.

The best thing that everyone could do for one another is just spend time together. The lights, decorations and shopping have all gotten way out of hand. Go back to simplifying the season. Xmas tree, a few small homemade gifts and dinner. Make sure you go to church and remember that it's Jesus' BD and celebrate that.

There use to be a place on 24 between Gumboro and Millsboro that went all out. I believe there were 5 houses in a row. Santa would be there and you could walk through the whole thing. Brings back fond Christmas memories with the children.

Mr.Pittsville went all out for Halloween. If you looked closely behind the Halloween decorations you could see the Christmas ones.
