They are stopping every blue and silver car PNC north.
White male in his 30's about 5-10.
Die Pack blew up on him.
He has on a grey and brown zip style coat.
One report says he's black, the other says he's white.
They are still saying he is white and they are reporting now its a four door. About every blue car with DE tags is being pulled over. They are even saying the car could be white. They are looking at bank videos now to see which it is. It is going to take twenty minutes to download the tape. Welcome to the SPD.
Sounds like we lost him again. One officer keeps asking the others if a note was used. Why does that matter right now? Also they can't even find out if a gun was used. You would think by now the banks would have some kind of training on what to do and most important get all the information you can. The guy drives off in a car and no one can get the color right or even get a plate number.
The Sheriff's Department keep asking for pictures. SPD has not given out any info. Central just told the cops that WBOC and WMDT has pictures and they should check there. Nothing forwarded to Salisbury News. Guess they won't catch them.

Banks do get extensive training. Not always is everything released to the public for investigation purposes. Imagine being robbed--do you honestly think you could tell the police the exact type of car the person was driving? You would be shaken up.
Get off some money? They only pay the tellers 30 cents over min wage.
anonymous 11:50, (with all due respect) You're Wrong! I would have a tag number so fast you wouldn't believe it. There's absolutely no way that they would get away without my taking it down. It's just the way some people are raised. I'm not saying others have "failed" by not doing so. I grew up in the City and that's the first thing you do.
C'mon down to Salisbury where you know you can rob any bank due to Salisbury not having a Police Chief who gives a hoot.
Ironically earlier this morning someone commented on one of the post about last night's circus "which bank will get robbed today"...good guess!
If I were a teller my instinct would be automatically be scanning every single person that I waited on down to his eye color, teeth, lips, moles and hands. My brain would be exhausted by the end of everyday. Teller's do not get paid enough for what they do. I hope the banks have handed out bullet proof outfits.

I like my chances even more since I cunningly thought of mixing bank robberies with, first a white robber, then next, a black robber. It makes it all the more confusing doesn't it. With all due respect, you are also wrong and I tend to agree with Joe. Happened to me also and I did look and see what kind of car and did get the tag number. That's where training comes in. I know that it's not real nice having a gun pointed at you, but you have to keep your wits about you and know all the things to do or else they will never catch these idiots.
Everyone will have a different reaction when "the moment" facing a gun comes. Joe, let's not blame the victims!
Joe why don't you and your posse start patroling the banks sicne it sounds like you would take him down your self. Lets see what you actually do. My bet is you would be hiding under a table, but I would rather see you go after him and see what happens.

What Joe was saying is that different strokes for different folks. People react differently , I was also robbed , at least they tried. I got his tag # and a good discription .
My friend was at a gas station on eastern shore drive when someone tried to rob him. He hosed them down with gas from the pump. They got nothing!

12:02 It's a matter of training. I have been through an attempted robbery and either you are scared to death or you are not. SOME people DO have the ability to start the "scan mode" and try to remember important things. SO you are wrong not everyone forgets details. IT'S A MATTER OF TRAINING!!!!
Its ironic that PNC is being targeted,after all like someone else said they have been "robbing" people for years.And its true they pay their tellers very little,little enough that I am suprised theres been no "inside jobs"

I don't know how much the Salisbury PD get paid, but apparently its too much. How embarassing it is for them to keep having bank robberies. I mean what's the count up to now??
Hopefully the dye pack that exploded will leave dye all over his hands & face. Someone knows him. You'd think the reward on crime solvers would tempt someone.
Arm the tellers, shoot the robbers and let the PD pick up the bodys (when they have time).
I was a teller at a bank and we had no training for a robbering situation. We were told common sense things like do what they ask, give them what they want, get a good description and so on. Until you are actually in the situation, you aren't going to know how to react. This town is getting out of hand. This is how many bank robberies in how many weeks? Something needs to be done. It's getting closer and closer to Christmas, so things are just going to get worse. You cut the county sheriff's hours because of furlough days, yet the city police still work more shifts and can't seem to catch anyone.

12:02 Everyone is different. i was beat up last year but still managed to get every bit of information I could hoping it would help to catch these people. I'm lucky enough to live in a town where the police chief cares about his job, the people he's protecting AND his fellow officiers. They caught the people and it was handled in court. Yes, they are doing time for the crime. Sure won't happen in Salisbury!
Until you are faced with a robbery you can not say what you would do with all certainty. some will be able to get all the information possible; others will freeze.
WMDT is saying there was 2 suspects. WBOC and sby news is saying 1. Was there a getaway driver or something?

remember the police are not here to protect you. they are here to protect the government. no police officer wants to walk into a violent situation. always, always wait until after the perp has left the scene to show up! you normal working people are on your own! suggest everyone start packing heat, after one or two of these idiots gets wasted commiting a crime, they'll think twice! then we'll hear from their family how they were honor students.
In arizona if you are armed and you do not take measures to stop the perp you are considered an accessory. Seem's like we could use that here!
They are trained to simply turn over the money. No amount of money is worth a teller's life. But also, the one bank I heard from has a 98% recovery on robbery. With those percentages, why not let the system work? You can bet the banks have their detectives working the robberies too. People strictly trained in solving bank robberies.
The problem comes once they are caught. Sentences aren't harsh enough. Time off for "Good Behavior", etc. Why not MORE TIME for bad behavior? Give them 30 years, then add 5 more every time they act up in prison! They must complete the first sentence before being eligible for parole, etc.
It would work!

30 years, out in 10, maybe 7 with good behavior.
Change that to...
30 years, out in 30 with good behavior, 35 if they act up once, 40 if they act up twice!
Imagine, if nothing else, there would be NO repeat offenders!
Over crowded jails? So what! Just another deterrent to crime. Who wants to go to jail and share a bunk?
This is what HAS to happen if you want to see crime rates drop.
Banks should spend the money to install better cameras. Maybe install a "ring bell to enter lobby system" and then a teller pushes a buttom to open the door. Also, as some banks in Florida have done for several years...post large signs outside the bank entrance door...ABSOLUTELY NO HATS, HOODS, SCARVES, SUNGLASSES PERMITTED!

p.s. banks need to start placing hidden cameras about waist-high at an upward angle. you can't see jack looking down from above.
It has been the same guy in at least the last three bank robberies. Post the pictures of him in other banks within a 50 mile radius. At least when he walks in it won’t be the first time the teller has ever seen him. I would not mind seeing his picture posted on the front door of my bank. Sure for the clerk’s safety they should just turn over the money. But you can at least go to the door after he leaves and look for a vehicle or direction of travel. I don’t understand why the cops all barrel into the bank. His is gone folks. Get out in the area sooner and patrol. They had over 10 cops at the bank in minutes with very few around on patrol looking for anyone walking or driving fast. SPD is a lot like Barney Fife. Let’s break out the finger print kit first even if we don’t know how to use it.

The crime rate in Salisbury is scary. It is also scary that 12:02 claims to have attended college. In the 12:02 comment, the number of errors in punctuation and the writing of "your wrong" instead of you're wrong leaves one desperately hoping that if this person ever stepped foot in any college, it was a custodian, not a student.
When I was in college at UMES over 15 years ago, all of my friends from across the bridge, philly, or new jersey were amazed at how open our banks were. No security, no bulletproof glass. The Mayberry mentality has caught up with us.
I used to work for this partiular bank as a teller and the training is far from extensive. You spend 2 weeks learning everything and then they shove you in a bank. The robbery training was 1/2 a day. Not extensive at all. And for what the tellers get paid, there's no reason for them to be a hero. One woman in there had been with the bank for 14 yrs and I knew people working fast food making more than her. Although, I don't know how hard it would be to tell if someone was black or white. It's ridiculous we can't catch these people. I am fully prepared to move away from Salisbury as soon as I am finished with school.
