Pemberton Historical Park Offers New Outdoor Programs

(Salisbury, MD) Looking for something fun to do next weekend? Pemberton Historical Park is the place to be! Beat your back-to-school blues and join the park staff for some exciting outdoor programs.

On Friday, September 11, the park will be hosting a Back-to-School Campfire from 7:30pm-9:00pm. Send out the summer Pemberton style with storytelling, skits, jokes, s’mores and more! Following the campfire will be a Herp Hunt from 9:00pm-10:00pm, where you and park staff will search out the biggest nocturnal reptiles and amphibians in the park. These evening programs are for children ages 7 and up.

On Saturday, September 12, the park will be hosting a few wild animal shows such as Adopt-an-Animal from 11:00am-12:00pm, where the community can support Pemberton’s collection of captive educational animals by adopting their favorite creature. Admission to this special program is free! During Amazing Animal Adaptations from 12:30pm-1:30pm, park staff will give an animal show focusing on incredible animal features and behavior, followed by a live animal feeding where children are encouraged to help. Then enjoy a wet afternoon at down Pemberton pond discovering what creatures call it home for our Pond Study from 2:00pm-3:00pm and get ready to get muddy!

These programs are $4 per person or $12 for a family of four, except Adopt-an-Animal which is free to the public. Friends of Pemberton Park receive free admission to all programs.
