MEDIA ADVISORY
Courts Will Remain Open Friday, September 4

(ANNAPOLIS, Md.
– August 27, 2009) In response to a plan issued by the Governor this week relating to furloughs, salary reductions and closings of Executive Branch agencies, executive offices will be closed Friday, September 4. However, due to the late notice of this announcement, the Maryland Judiciary is not in a position to support closing on that date. As such, all Maryland courts will remain open on Friday, September 4.

A comprehensive Judiciary plan to address the budget problem is under development and will be issued shortly. Information on the Judiciary’s plan will be made available on www.mdcourts.gov.

I have a good idea. There are more prisoners in Maryland than State employees. We could use most of the prisoners doing all the state road jobs and other infrastructure jobs. Put them on small chain gangs
, this would allow less need for state employees in that specific
job and less prison guards during
the day. Instead of us paying for the prisoners college education
they could become productive . Think about it , isn't it just too easy ? That's why it won't happen!
