Conservative talk radio continues to flourish, but there are troubling signs that the Obama administration is seeking to silence the free and open exchange of views on the public airwaves.
Today 100 million people tune in to America's 2,000 talk-radio hosts each week, and the overwhelming majority of those hosts are conservative — a fact that has irked the left for years.
The recent controversy surrounding top-rated radio and TV talker Glenn Beck is emblematic of the Obama regime's efforts to stifle dissent in the media.
The African-American political organization Color of Change called for an advertiser boycott of Beck's programming after Beck said Obama "doesn't like white people" on July 28.
He was reacting to Obama's assertion that the Cambridge, Mass., Police Department had acted "stupidly" in its arrest of African-American professor Henry Louis Gates.
As it turns out, Color of Change was founded by Van Jones, who serves in the Obama White House as his "green-jobs czar," responsible for stimulating job growth in the environmental sector.
Obama has made no secret of his disdain for others in the conservative media. Shortly before the November election, he said in an interview, "I am convinced that if there were no Fox News, I might be two or three points higher in the polls."
And in June he was clearly referring to Fox when he stated, "I've got one television station that is entirely devoted to attacking my administration."
Obama has also gone after Rush Limbaugh, telling GOP leaders shortly after his inauguration, "You can't just listen to Rush Limbaugh and get things done."

Talk (hate) radio will get what it deserves. As a point of fact, Beck's statement went well beyond "Obama doesn't like white people". The accurate statement was "Obama hates white people and is a racist". Get the facts straight.

Glenn Beck speaks the truth. The problem is that when you really speak the truth, it seems that you get condemed for it. Oh well, so much for free speech, Obama is going to take that away as well as all of our guns and money. You libs just keep on donating to Obama's reelection campaign.

Again, again again again again. Glen Beck will say anything for money. Rush Limbaugh will say anything for money. They are not civic leaders. They are in it for profit. I have published here many times showing how two faced Mr. Beck is. Of course, it never gets posted becasue it goes against the feather of this blog, which is the same as Beck and Limbaugh.

Typical liberal response. If you can't compete on a level playing field then try to shut down the opposition. Nobody listens to liberal talk radio because it is boring and people just don't want to get depressed. Instead of trying to shut down conservative talk why not try to put something on the air that people will actually listen to. Oh thats right you tried air America and no one listened. Could it be because your message of bashing America at every opppurtunity tirns people off.

It is funny to hear liberals cry foul when they hear something they do not like, however, it is perfectly fine to call a conservative (I use the term loosely) President (Bush) anything and everything. It is also telling that the key point Beck was making is never discussed. The reply is the standard "racist", blah, "neocon", blah, blah, straight out of the liberal play book.
The truth is that eventually, liberals, along with conservatives and moderates are going to get sucker punched by Obama's policies whether they be economics, homeland security, healtcare, etc. Liberals need to look beyond their immediate need for self-gratification in winning an election that was less about what Obama was for as it was about getting rid of Republicans that did not listen to the people and did a bad job of governing. In 7 months a vast majority of the American electorate has learned that they do not want to become a socialist state, that they do not know who is actually pulling Obama's strings, and they want their government accountable to the people, not a bunch of idealogues that believe that they are smarter than the rest of us heathen.
May we be smart enough to look at the facts and wise enough to draw our own conclusions.

Everyone will have treatment delayed and denied.
The poor union souls are protesting their own demise.
