Delaware State Police early Tuesday morning responded to Cascade Lane Rehoboth for a reported theft from a vehicle complaint. The Trooper was told by the victim that he exited his residence because he heard his vehicle car alarm. When the victim looked at his vehicle he observed the door open and miscellaneous items on the ground. Also while on scene Troopers learned from a neighbor that he observed a male rummaging through the neighbors vehicle. The witness observed Wheway stumble away from the crime scene.

Wheway however was not finished. Wheway apparently remembered that he left his bag in the rear bed of the truck that he was stealing items from. Wheway returned to obtain his bag while the Trooper was still on scene conducting his theft investigation. The Trooper stopped Wheway who was out walking at 2:50 A.M. in the morning, conducted a search of his person and located the 30 year old victim’s personal items, drivers license and work identification in Wheway’s possession.

Wheway was arrested on the above listed offenses and released.
