Wikipedia Says Obama Born In Kenya

Online encyclopedia can't make up its mind on president's birthplace

By Joe Kovacs© 2009 WorldNetDaily

Wikipedia just can't seem to make up its mind about where President Barack Obama was born.

The free, online encyclopedia this afternoon displayed at least two countries the commander in chief may have been born in – the United States and Kenya.

WND documented how the entry for the "Early life and career of Barack Obama" changed numerous times.

At 4:45 p.m. Eastern, Wikipedia said:

"Barack Obama, the current President of the United States, was born on August 4, 1961 in either Honolulu, in the state of Hawaii[1], or Mombasa, Kenya, to Barack Obama, Sr. (1936–1982) (born in Nyang’oma Kogelo, Siaya District, Nyanza Province,[2] Kenya Colony, British Empire
), and Ann Dunham (1942–1995) (born in Fort Leavenworth, Kansas).[3][4] On his mother's side he has a half-sister; on his father's side, Obama has two half-sisters and five surviving half-brothers.[5]"

Wikipedia is open to editing by anybody. You must be very careful when citing anything from Wikipedia - it could be a secondary source at best.

For example, I could write a biography about Joe Albero calling you a turd. I could also write one about former Mayor Barrie Tilghman, calling her a saint. Just because wikipedia states these claims, in no way makes them true.

In the Obama entry in question, two differing camps are warring over the site's article to get their point across. Chances are, it will soon be locked so only a few people are allowed to edit it.

Either way he is still just a worthless democrat.

Once again, WND prints crap.

12:32 hit the nail on the head. Wikipedia is open to anyone to edit. So, the "birthers" are trying to push their paranoia onto the Obama page?

Thanks WND, for that incisive expose!

Give me one example of WND printing something that's not factual if you can't then shut your whining trap !

1:05,

start here:

But, honestly, if you didn't already know the amount of open lies that WND prints, then I feel sorry for you. Also, your mother must have raised your poorly if you think it's appropriate to tell people to "shut your whining trap". I think you need to go back and brush up on how to talk to people.

CON WEB WATCH really do we need to ask if the web site is biased do I really need to prove it ? My mother taught me to earn my own living and not to rely on government hand outs and sometimes the best way to deal with an idiot is to knock the crap out of them as for your mother she must have been a very weak person but strong enough to push your dad around.

Anonymous said...

Chuck knows how to talk to people alright.
That is as long as you agree with him.
If you don't, well then, he just calls you names and doubts your sanity.

Anonymous said...

CON WEB WATCH and MEDIA MATTERS are the same group of whacko's. Funny how this kook accuses World net daily of lying then rolls out Media Matters as proof ahahahahah.

Chuck how is it crap? WND is reporting what wiki has posted. I think you should say wiki is crap but not WND in this case for simply stating the truth of what wiki has posted.

chuck said...

1:45,

Did you read it? No, I doubt you did, or else you wouldn't be responding like that. It shows, with links to the proof, TONS of stores that WND has completely fabricated. WND lies regularly, and casually, about nearly everything. I'm glad to see that you've decided, instead of talking properly to people, that you should ramp up your rude rhetoric. Good luck with that!

1:52,

Show me where I called anyone a name who simply disagreed with me. Do it. Back up your assertions or they are meaningless.

Anonymous said...

I see the psychos are out today.

Anonymous said...

1:52 That goes for most liberals

chuck said...

1:59, more insults, no substance. You never read the link, or the evidence, but, instead, attacked the source without proof to back it up.

2:00, WND was pushing this story as "proof" of Obama's non-citizenship. You know what their motivation is. C'mon.

Anonymous said...

Chuck actually no I dont know what their motive is. They simply stated facts. Do facts really annoy you that much?

chuck said...

2:41,

Okay, buddy. What purpose does it serve to report that Wikipedia is saying Obama was born in Kenya, without disclosing that wikipedia is an open source encyclopedia that allows anyone to edit it? It reinforces the 17,000 other WND stories trying to claim the President isn't natural born, OF COURSE.

But, of course, you knew that, are are just attempting to condescend me. The worst part is how transparent you are about it. Try harder next time.

Facts really get in the way of Chuck's reality. They really cause him trouble.

Anonymous said...

Ok Chuck
Since you called me buddy? then say Im trying to be condescending. Show me in that article where something wasn't a fact. I think you are trying to read more into then really needs to be.

Anonymous said...

Chuck rhymes with ....?

Anonymous said...

Chuck your the one who made the accusation that WND was "crap" and when you were asked to back it up you go to media matters come on how do you expect to be taken seriously ? You can't go to the extreme left for unbiased reporting.

chuck said...

3:34,

When did the word "buddy" become condescending? Do you not like your friends or something?

I never said that they didn't have their facts right on this article. But, I know you can recognize what WND was trying to imply with this article. I know you can. You're not a stupid person, are you? So, we'll just leave it at that, because I'm not going to argue with someone who knows better.

that is not fair. We are not allowed to say that word on here ;)

When are you guys gonna get over the "birth" issue, the man is president and is not going to be impeached on this issue. Some of you are beginning to whine like the Pocomoke whacko family formerly known as Boss Hogg and his looney lady Wymsie(the Burkes).Spend your efforts on something more important like why don't bad guys go to jail anymore or when is "help is on the way" going to finally arrive ?

chuck said...

4:23,

Media Matters isn't the extreme left. They are watchdogs of the right wing media. If you can show me where they have lied about their reportage, I would be happy to hear it (with links, of course). In addition, did you READ what I linked to? If so, then you would have seen all the evidence necessary, from various other sources, that show WND being fast and loose with the facts, and openly lying at times.

In addition, WND IS "crap". I don't have a problem with bias if the facts are there. Even Fox can be biased, but still report factually on the issues from time to time. But WND disregards facts in an effort to push their own agenda. If you can't see that, or want to ignore the reality that's staring you in the face, that's your prerogative.

Chuck, you gotta admit how proud you were of me for being the ONLY News Source to deliver the REAL Obama Birth Cirtificate.

Sometimes you just have to consider the source, I agree. Buut putting out both sides opens it up for discussion/debate and IMHO there are too many people calling eachother names and attacking simply because someone has a difference of opinion, that includes you too Chuck.

Rather thasn being defensive all the time, let it go. Sometimes I should take my own advice, I know. But I've gotten so much better over the years.

Hey Chuick & Two Sentz, Obama IS the President of the United States. Salisbury News is NOT going to bring him down, get it? It will be OK and when it's not, Obama will call me and tell me to take a chill pill. In the mean time I'll bet he's cracking up at more than 1/2 this BS anyway.

Anonymous said...

Media matters is far left that is a fact. Issue number 2 for person who said when are you going to get over the birth certificate issue do you or do you not believe we should uphold the constitution ?

Bob said...

I think this. Enough people have drawn attention to the birth certificate issue that Obama should provide it. He was elected POTUS and works for US - not the other way around. You have to provide a birth certificate to get a drivers license (well only if you are a citizen). So what you shouldn't have to provide one to be the leader of the most powerful nation in the world? Sure you should. And I don't want to hear a bunch of nonsense about McCain being born in Panama either.

If Obama has nothing to hide get it out and get it over with. The only Birth certificate ever shown was a photoshop job on the net. What's up with that?

Somehow, there seems to be something inherently wrong with an encyclopedia that can be EDITED!
(Don't you think?)

Paulie G said...

It doesn't matter. If the President's mother was a U.S. citizen, lived in the U.S. for a total of 5 years and at least 2 of those were over the age of 14, he was born a citizen. This is a non issue. The real issue is the theft of our freedoms and sovereignty.
