Salisbury Police Department Press Releases


On May 20, 2009 at approximately 7:39 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department received a call to respond to the railroad track area at the rear of Pat’s Pizzeria for the report of an attempted armed robbery. Upon arrival the officers met with a single victim who advised that he had been located behind the Pat’s Pizzeria business near his vehicle when he was approached by two (2) suspects. The suspects produced small wooden sticks and threatened the victim, demanding his U.S. Currency. The victim resisted the suspects and fought with one suspect, causing both suspects to flee from the area on foot without any of the victim’s property. Other witnesses observed the suspects run to an older red two door passenger vehicle and flee from the area. There were no injuries.

The suspects are described as:

1. White male, 20 years of age, 215 lbs., wearing a black shirt, black pants, and a black mask over his face.

2. White male, 20 years of age, 215 lbs, wearing a black shirt,
black pants, and a black facial covering.

This investigation is continuing.

On May 21, 2009 at approximately 1:45 am, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the Burger King Restaurant on South Salisbury Boulevard for the report of an armed robbery. Upon arrival the officers were advised that three (3) suspects had confronted the employees of the business and had taken U.S. Currency from the store. The suspects made entry into the business then two (2) of the suspects produced handguns and threatened the employees. Once the suspects received the U.S. Currency from the business, the suspects fled from the area. There were no injuries. The suspects are described as:

1. Black male, 5’08”, 150 lbs., wearing a blue hooded sweatshirt with orange sleeves and white and orange stripes, and dark colored jeans.
2. Black male, 5’08”, 150 lbs., wearing a blue sweatshirt which appeared to have white paint on it, blue jogging pants with an orange stripe and white shoes.
3. Black male, 5’07”, 130 lbs., wearing a black hooded sweatshirt and blue jeans.

This investigation is continuing.

On May 20, 2009 at approximately 11:45 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to a residence on the eight hundred (800) block of E. Church St. for the report of a trespasser. Upon arrival the officers met with a victim who advised that the below listed suspect was refusing to leave her property. The officers attempted to have the suspect leave but were unsuccessful.

ARRESTED: Donta Lamont Mills, 31 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES: Trespassing

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking

On May 21, 2009 at approximately 2:38 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police Department were on routine patrol in the area of
Baker St. and observed the below listed suspect trespassing on posted property. The officers met with the suspect, who was checked and found to be in possession of a bag of suspected marijuana.

ARRESTED: Daniel Marcus Mapes, 20 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES: Possession of marijuana

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking

On May 21, 2009 at approximately 3:26 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police were on the three hundred (300) block of Lake St. and observed the below listed suspect in possession of a vehicle reported stolen to the Salisbury Police on May 19, 2009. The investigation of the motor vehicle theft revealed that the suspect possibly worked at a business located on Lake St.

ARRESTED: Deangelo Clark Maddox, 44 years of age Princess Anne, Maryland

CHARGES: Theft of a motor vehicle

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking

On May 21, 2009 at approximately 8:50 pm, Officers of the Salisbury Police received a call to respond to the Peninsula Regional Medical Center for the report of a trespasser. Upon arrival the officers were advised by hospital personnel that the below listed suspect was refusing to leave their property after a number of requests to do so. Officers also attempted to have the suspect leave the property but were unsuccessful.

ARRESTED: Timothy Raynard Mitchell, 30 years of age Salisbury, Maryland

CHARGES: Trespassing

DISPOSITION: Released to Central Booking

I like the "US Currency" descriptions. Really? You sure he didn't yell: "GIVE ME ALL YOUR EUROS, OR I'LL JAB YOU WITH THESE STICKS!"

Glad the SPD has the curtsey to specify what type of currency the suspects demanded. I would have otherwise assumed they demanded pesos or rubles. Thanks SPD!!!!!!!

Furthermore, if the victim happened to have a few 500 Euro notes, do you really think the suspects would have refused them? "Thanks, but no thanks, we accept US Currency only."

Daniel Marcus Mapes case, seems like it was a shady arrest,,,again. Any one else fired or quit lately?
