BREAKING NEWS! Handgun Robbery Attempt At Salisbury University

On May 1, 2009 at approximately 3:50 a.m., two pedestrians were approached in
Salisbury University's parking lot "C" by a silver colored sedan. One of the
sedan's occupants offered to sell marijuana to the two people walking together
in the parking lot. After the pedestrians declined to purchase the marijuana,
one of the vehicle's occupants exited the vehicle and displayed a handgun. The
pedestrians ran away, without further incident.

The suspect vehicle was possibly a Nissan Altima, - or similar style. It was
occupied by five African-American men. The individual who displayed the handgun
was described as being 18-25 years old, dark complexion, approximately 6' tall,
with a small to medium build.

Anyone who may have information about this incident is asked to contact the
Salisbury University Police Department: (410) 543-6222; or, report anonymously
to Crime Solvers of the Lower Eastern Shore: (410) 548-1776.

Please review and consider the following tips. Extra vigilance and caution is
always in order whenever you are out during late evening and early morning
hours, - away from crowds.

Street Robbery Tips:
1. Try to remain calm. Do not resist. Consider the robber dangerous.
2. In most cases, the robber only wants your valuables/money and is not there
to hurt you.
3. Assume the robber is armed, even if you don't see a weapon.
4. If a weapon is displayed, consider it to be real and loaded.
5. Do only what the robber tells you. If you don't understand, tell the robber.
6. Attempt to get a good, complete description of the robber, - taking note of
unique and unusual characteristics.
7. Your main goal is to survive!
8. Don't resist and fight with the assailant unless it is evident that your
life is in danger.
9. Remember--your valuables can be replaced, - your life can't.

Report any suspicious persons immediately to the police. If possible, use a
cellular phone to call 911 while maintaining visual observation of the
subject(s).

Yes someone on this blog sometime ago was telling people how great the college was and it was the only thing that kept salisbury going.
W ell thanks for all the strong arm robbery and the armed robbery and the rapes.
God bless salisbury college kids the good ones and the hell with the rich city class that comes down here and does these things.
Please save your time and dont tell me it is all local people . You know like the ones busting out all the windows and stuff in the college area and little rich dad come down and bailed em all out.
By the way why dont blog man joe follow up on that story and tell us what happened to the little rich kids?

For anyone’s information (if it’s worth it) "Rich Kids" do NOT go to Salisbury. Just because some of their parents worked hard to pay for their child’s education (SU is cheap education) does not make them rich.
You haven’t seen rich kids until you go to DC, Boston, or NY.

Wow.....looks like 30% of Salisbury are suspect's. I'm sure the cops will have no problem catching the perps with this subscription.

If it walks like a duck....

Let me clarify rich kids.
They are wanna be rich kids .
Who have just enou;gh money they think they can get away with anything.
Oh and yes i have seen a few snotts worse than these here but not many.
So be proud, of your children rob, rape and burn.
But beware you may be shot 39 times.

2:21, well said. So many uneducated people that post on here assume that SU is an expensive school for the elite. Well folks, it is not. It is very resonably priced, and it is a top rated school (for its size, etc.)

Young adults will be young adults no matter where they are at. It doesnt matter if they are students or white trash trailer park kids. It is not our buisness what they are doing out at that time of night. What should be our concern is why these robberies keep happening.

I guess your not even safe on campus now. College students continue to be targets of the local thugs and gang members.

Why does this not surprise me?

"SU is cheap education"

How about... SU has kept their tuition the same for many years.

Say "thank you" instead! Although we know nobody from your family has ever attended college.

Obviously Anon 1:52 PM hasn't ever been in college, and probably hasn't ever been younger than 40.

College students are often up late at night -- sometimes not even drinking, but actually working on projects related to their educations.

It isn't like these two students had wandered over to Church Street at 4am to pick up whores and drugs. this happened right on campus. Take a look at the map -- Parking lot C is in the main campus, right near the gym and science building, and only a couple hundred yards away from some dorms.

Look for the black diamond symbol near the middle of the map

gee, why aren't there armed robberies at frostburg??cos those students at fsu have f.pd. watching out for them. see for yourself all colleges have a safety/crime report .this may sound racist, its true. ten bucks says these hoods were from the hood, not s.u.

the COLLEGE kept us up last night with their pa system on full blast, and we don't live right next door. Where's the "noise police", or is the SU exempt when the noise emanates from them?
