And They Called Us CAVE People And The Dirty Dozen!

Ladies & Gentlemen, it has been a very long 4 years in the making. We had a Mayor that played dirty tricks on the taxpayers of Salisbury who believed she was invincible. I have seen dirty politics like no one could have ever dreamed of and desperation like no other campaign ever experienced.

Name calling, personal attacks, arrests, threats, you name it, it has been done. We had a Mayor that clearly disgusted many but for all too many years no one was willing to stand up to the Tilghman Administration in fear of all kind of retaliation.

For me personally, there have been arrests and false charges simply to make me out to be this bad guy who took more abuse than anyone could ever dream of. In the past, it was enough to fold many and made them go into hiding but this time Barrie Tilghman met her match. She believed there was this "Dirty Dozen" and she actually thought that's where it ended. She was so sick, she had no clue there were hundreds, if not thousands of people even back then who couldn't stand her dirty tactics but no one had yet to stand up to her.

I personally fought this woman along with Chief Webster, Chief See, Mike Dunn, Lynn Cathcart, Gary Comegys, Jim Rapp, Carrie Samis, Ron Alessi, Richard Insley, Louise Smith, The Daily Times and many others and I was not going to stand down. Hence, Salisbury News. If for nothing else, one way or another I was going to expose these people to the point they would finally be accountable for their actions and today each and every one of you who cast your vote for Debbie Campbell, Jim Ireton and Cynthia Polk finally proved to this administration you weren't going to take it any more.

Along comes a wonderful man named Jim Ireton. A man who absolutely loves the City of Salisbury and reminds me a lot of Jim Mathias, charismatic about the town he loved so well. A new light to shine brighter than any other light this City has ever seen. The Daily Times ragged on him from day one and it only until the bitter end that they finally came to realize the message coming from Salisbury News was more powerful than they had ever dreamed of. The message was, "Help Is On The Way" from a man who truly meant it. From a man that was not just gaining momentum, a man that said full steam ahead and never looked back. A man who was the light at the end of a very dark tunnel that until today no one ever expected to see the end.

Jim Ireton is a man who can be trusted and I can't thank each and every one of you for showing your support and trusting in the message we continued to deliver each and every day for the past three months. Now don't ever think we believe Jim is perfect, no one is. What you will come to learn is that YOUR best interests are at heart with this man and he will do his very best to make the positive changes Salisbury so desperately needs.

Debbie Campbell, what can I say. Has it been easy watching this woman get attacked by Gary Comegys, Barrie Tilghman, Mike Dunn and Louise Smith, absolutely not. But I'll tell you this. When Debbie Campbell ran for Office and I watched these cowards beat up on her at every opportunity they could I made Debbie a promise many years ago that I would attend every single Council Meeting and I'd have her back. No, it hasn't been easy. Mike Dunn pushed buttons and confronted Debbie in abusive ways I had never seen a man do to a woman and quite frankly it was all I could do to keep myself from getting right back in that mans face and treat him exactly the same way he was treating her. The only way I felt I could get justice was to create a Blog of my own and go after them the same way they had gone after me and others.

Debbie Campbell has certainly made meetings last much longer than they should have, IF we had an honorable council. That was not the case, so Debbie had to press each and every issue and let me assure you of one thing, this is a VERY intelligent woman and you're damn lucky to have her back for another 4 years.

As for Cynthia Polk, she's a very kind woman and while many out there are begging that she win this election, I thank Cynthia for stepping up to the plate to better this fine City. If Cynthia doesn't win, all is not lost, trust me on that. Shanie Shields is not a vindictive woman. She will also see the light at the end of the tunnel and I firmly believe she'll start to vote in a direction that will help the City move forward, you'll see. I also believe you'll see the same out of Louise Smith. Gary Comegys will do one of two things. He'll either be the guy that becomes vindictive and tries to get Louise Smith and Shanie Shields to side with him on every vote or Gary will simply say enough is enough and call it quits. My guess is that he'll attempt to make every one's live miserable after this loss as there will be many people, especially Landlords/Slumlords that will desperately want him to stick with it and keep them alive.

In the end I firmly believe once everyone settles into their new positions the citizens will see where Ireton is headed and he will quickly gain even more support for his vision and Gary and his people will quickly fade into the sunset. It's time to do things right and everyone will need a few days to get used to what's about to change in 12 more days. I'm dying to see if the Mayor actually leaves the notes she took for the new Mayor from her recent meetings and actually cooperates with Mr. Ireton to make this transaction a smooth one. Somehow I doubt it but I encourage ALL of you to keep your eyes out for any Shredder Companies and alert Salisbury News if you see ANYTHING suspicious over the next few days at the GOB.

My very first request for Mr. Ireton as Mayor would be, create a telephone hot line just like Rick Pollitt did and let each and every employee of the City come clean immediately with what they know. Get right to the bottom of everything fast and come forward to the public with what you have learned so as they can never come back and point the finger at you for anything. The sooner he gets this done the better life will be for everyone.

Getting back to the title of this Post, Barrie, the "Dirty Dozen" was a figment of your imagination. Today you were spanked by the majority of Citizens who simply said, "ENOUGH IS ENOUGH." It was never a dozen people Barrie. Today we proved just that.

To Mayor Jim Ireton Elect and Councilwoman Debbie Campbell, THANK YOU so very much! Folks, you can stop hiding behind anonymous if you'd like. Things are about to get really exciting in the City of Salisbury. It has been a very long day but an even longer 4 years. I thank ALL of our readers for visiting and participating with Salisbury News. We started out rough and have toned things down year after year. It's only going to get better from here on out Ladies & Gentlemen.

In closing, Tuesday was the biggest day Salisbury News has ever had. I'll obviously get a later start than usual as I'm wrapping up this Post at 1:40 AM.

Joe, on behalf of so many citizens, I want to thank you for standing up--as no one else has had the guts to do--to Barrie. None of this would have been possible without your sticking up for the citizens. Thank you

Sir:

Although you may not have dealt with some of them, don't forget the FOB's who did Barrie's bidding behind the scenes and sometimes in public -- such as Phil Tilghman, Tom Becker, Brad Bellaciccio, Michael O'Loughlin, of course, Dunn and Cathcart, to name some of the die-hards. Imagine the havoc they would cause if Bubba had become R. Necks Mare!

For all of them this election is fittingly called "Bad Day at Black Rock."

Joe, well said. You can take just as much pleasure from this victory. Best wishes to Jim and Debbie who I hope becomes Council President if possible. The city will be a better place after Jim takes his office. I just hope he realizes quickly who he can trust and who he can't. Barrie is right. There is a dirty dozen in the city. Unfortunately they are still on the payroll. As for you Joe, you still have much work to do. Keep up the great work! You rock!

Very well said, Joe. It's a new day, a day where we can see light at the end of the tunnel and for that, I am thankful. I do hope that those "returning" will grow up and see that the citizens of Salisbury should be their number 1 priority. I also hope that Mr. Ireton creates a hotline and I hope that everyone blows the whistle on everything that is not right. The citizens of Salisbury did it...they got out there and voted and it counted! I want Barrie to know one thing...I am a member of the Dirty Thousand! If she thought it was only a dozen, she was sorely mistaken!

My career has launched and the last two weeks or so have been consumed by work, and that was my intent after the primaries.

My only regret was not being able to help more in the closing days of the election. Yesterday was a wake up at 3AM and got to sleep after midnight, my heart and soul was at Flavors of Italy.

My heart and soul also voted for Cynthia May Polk and will be praying she takes the absentee votes! Let's complete this tri-fecta and move farward.

Good Morning Barrie,

No...it wasn't a nightmare, you and your cronies LOST!! The dirty tricks did not work. Now I know that you have a really bad hangover this morning, but just think, you'll have plenty of time to recover when Jim takes over. I hope that you have learned a lesson, that dirty politics don't work around here. We have spoken in volume and I hope that you heard it! I only hope that we all get to see Karma do it's thing on you and the scum that have run this city into the ground. We are tired of the special interests and the wasteful spending (WWTP, Fire Palace and Tower 16, slumlords, police cover-ups, the list goes on and on)! We are also tired of having a police chief that could care less about the citizens of Salisbury. I think that they all thought that we were idiots and couldn't see what they were doing. Thanks to Joe, you all have been exposed and I am grateful for that. We have taken our city back and it's time to CLEAN HOUSE!

I just left the Gordy Exxon - Autumn Terrace and between Comegy and Boda signs you can't hardly even get-in to the service station entrance.

Gee wizz guys . . .do you really need to virtually wall-to-wall sign the place?

Let's not forget that we have one more person to thank.Thank you so much Joe. From the bottom of our hearts. It's clear that you love this city too and see the amazing possibilities for Salisbury. In stead of wasting time complaining about something like so many do, you did something for all of us! Thank you again so much for all of your hard work and your love for Salisbury. My hat is off to you Joe. Your accomplishments are to be applauded!

For all of you who left this city, you can come back now!!!

There is gonna be some job openings in Salisbury!!!!! Hoppes, Gordy and Webster will be at the top of the list. Even though Gordy doesn't get paid, it seems that he has cost the City alot of headaches, and alot of money. Good riddence of all this trash. Maybe the Mayor will take them in!. And here it is Bubba retired,(LOL) from the State because he was so sure he was gonna need that time to be Mayor. Bubba, don't count your chickens before they hatch.

In reference to the first comment: No, Joe---DON'T go away!

And to the first commenter: You wish! What is it that YOU have to hide? Joe will find it. Hah!

The people of Salisbury should be proud of what they accomplished yesterday. Their vote against the redneck bully indicates the opposite from what Barrie has been touting all along. She continually accused the bloggers and a few of ruining her city. Well guess what Barrie, you have been sent a very important message. Your welcome was worn out. Your contract expired years ago but we finally had a good, intelligent young person who was willing to step forward to make the change happen. It restores my faith in humanity.

Hey Jim, if you don't fire Webster (oooh I wish) can you make him wear a uniform and walk the streets where crime is really occuring. Maybe he can work out of the substations!!!

You better believe that any incriminating documents have already been shredded. As a city resident my family and I thank everyone who helped rid the city of the corrupt Barry Tilghman regime. There are no finer council persons than Debbie and Terry, thank goodness for them. Jim Ireton appears to be a fine ethical and courageous leader, one who CAN'T BE BOUGHT. Suddenly things seem hopeful!! Thanks to you as well Joe, I admire the strength of your convictions and toughness!

Everyone who got out and voted yesterday, job well done! The numbers were up from the last election due to wanting to make your vote count. Thank you for not staying home allowing others to go instead. As you can see, every vote DOES count! Even now, we're having to wait for absentee votes to be counted to see if Ms. Polk will win, the votes are so close she could.

Change has come to Salisbury!

Good Job Joe. Thank you for hte awareness you gave us. You are the eyes and ears of Joe Public.

Everyone must keep in mind that Jim is not going to be able to unscrew in 6 months what the Mare took years to screw up. I am just hoping to see some change and movement in the correct direction. Maybe a little light adn honesty shed upon the darkness that was the Mare and her cronies.

Thanks again Joe. Please stick with us keep your eyes open. Let us know what is happening. I am glad that you see that the honest Salisbury people are behind you.

Congrats to Jim and Debbie, and congrats to the citizens of Salisbury, who clearly rejected the politics of fear and intimidation. For all of you who received a letter from your landlords saying your rent would go up due to Jim Ireton's "renter's tax," you will soon discover what we've all known--they were lying to you. Do not forget this. They lied to you during this election, and they will try to do it again in the future. And as for the "concerned citizens of Salisbury," you can kiss my butt. Take your dirty tactics back to Fairfax, Virginia, where you mailed your nasty letter. You hear that big banging sound? That's a backfire! SAPOA, Grinch, Dunn, Cathcart, Tighlman, Insley, Maloney--thanks for lowering the level of politics into the muck so that you energized the good people of Salisbury to get out and vote.

Good job Joe! You should be proud, and all the good people are thankful for what you have done.
You have brought down the GANG of insiders who has raped this town of its money and pride. Way to go.

Anonymous said...

Don't forget Gordo must go also! He is the ringleader of Comegys and See. He has been behind this wasteful spending. He must go and we must demand it, for the good of the fire department.

Anonymous said...

All Comegys neighbors had his signs down and in the trash by 7pm last night.

Is it in bad taste to say "Ha Ha Ha"???? Salisbury is in good hands now.

Three cheers for the Dirty Dozen and the Cave People!! That sounds like a good name for a band, by the way.

How long does it take to count 32 absentee ballots? Next election I bet there are hundreds just like in Pocomoke. Can you say ACORN?

Anonymous said...

Way to go Joe! We of the "dirty, but actually clean, dozen" applaud alll you've done to make this election turn out the way it did. Congrats to Jim, Debbie and Cynthia on their wins! It couldn't have come out better.

So Barrie, you wouldn't allow the obama money to fund the Salisbury Urban Committee because............ you had created a position for you to do this job (with city money) if Gary was elected. How's that workin for you today?

What a sleezeball

Jim is a close personal friend of mine and I could not be prouder of him. You won't find anyone who will work harder to help this city.

Just keep in mind that he's been handed a huge pile of crap to deal with. It can not be fixed in a day, a week, a month or even a year. It's going to take time.

It's not over just because he won the election. He needs us all now, more than ever to stand beside him and to help fix this mess that's been so disgustingly created. Keep on showing your support my friends. Go to the council meetings and speak your minds. You WILL be heard!

Keep on keeping on Jim!

I agree there needs to be some housecleaning. Both Chiefs must go. Hoppes and Gordo must go. Then we need to get to the bottom of these crimes committed by people on the inside.

I totally agree and although it pains me to say it, this must also be said about our President. I did not vote for him but he is there and we have to at least give him the same time frame? And trust me..it hurt to say that!

Chief Webster has to go because he hired a police officer who is still employed that broke into a church. What kind of Chief would hire a person who admitted to a Felony. Mayor Elect what more do you need. Chief Webster must go April 21, 2009. He has taken care of the one's that kissed up to them. Webster must go so the citizen's can start to feel safe in the community
