This Just In

Hey Joe,

Just drove by Middleneck Drive, report is that a kid got hit by a car, can you find out how serious the child's conditions is? Police are still at the scene, the child was transported to the hospital by ambulance. The police would not let anyone get close to see. thanks for researching what ever you can.

Has anyone heard anything on this?

The child was running back and forth across the street, sad part the parent was present when this occurred. Gee, I wonder what she could of done to of avoided this from happening to her child? The ambulance crew assured a witness that the child will be ok.

I don't know anything about this particular accident/tragedy....
but yesterday I was driving along RT 13 and in front of the (crap hole) Thrift Travel Inn there was a toddler wearing only a diaper running around right near the edge of the street. An older child (brother?) about age 6 or 7 was trying to "babysit" and pull the kid away from the street. I saw NO parents around. I saw the kid almost step out into the street (and die).. twice.

It made me sick to my stomach.

The parent should be charged with
child abuse.

A neighbor told me the child will be ok.

If you were a parent and have ever had a toddler you would know that sometimes they just run! Get over yourselves. Accidents happen, that's why they are called accidents.

Ok, but how do we "get over yourselves" if the child were to be killed while running across the road? With a parent sanctioning their actions?

If you were a parent and have ever had a toddler, you would know that teaching them to STAY AWAY FROM ROADS/STREETS is one of the basic rules to live a long an prosperous life!!

This simple bit of advice, instilled in the minds of our youth, could save numerous lives.

When will parents (single or not) get their heads out of their A$$&S and start teaching their children respect for society's dangers, their neighbors values, their community laws & regulations, and their fellow human beings?

Discipline starts at home, regardless of the parent's means.

It is appalling that this child was reportedly running back & forth across the street with a parent in full view of their child's actions. In most people's mind, this is a parental blunder that the child will remember for his/her lifetime. This child will grow up thinking "Hey, it's acceptable to risk ruining their life, because My Parent was watching me, it's OK.

If parents cannot be an effective disciplinarian, then they should not have children, planned or by mistake. However, if parents with children are themselves incapable of properly diciplining their children, then maybe they should seek assistance from friends, family , Churches, or the County, State, or Federal Programs.

I only hope the child does not become a statistic one day.... be it death or crime...

The one thing I hate about posted comments is how everyone is so quick to judge because nobody sees the human faces behind the stories. Everyone is so quick to condemn those reported about with their limited knowledge and gigantic opinion of the situation. Have some compassion people.

I am VERY familiar with today's situation, with THIS child...and it is true... this mother allows the child to run back and forth across the road. It was VERY hard for the couple of children who SAW this happen (on their bus) and the mother should be held COMPLETELY RESPONSIBLE. Thankfully, the child had no broken bones or worse. thankfully...
