Information Needed

"Dear Mr. Albero

I am writing you in hopes that you or maybe some of the readers of your blog can help. My mother has been referred to Dr. Julius Zant in Salisbury for surgery consult. I was wondering if you or your readers have had any experience with Dr. Zant. I tried looking him up on line but there was not much information on him. How is his bedside manner. Has he had any legal action against him for malpractice? Does he come highly recommended? Thanks for taking the time to read this letter. I would prefer to remain anonymous.

P.S
I read your blog everyday"

Three years ago Dr. Zant was one of my doctors. His Bedside manner is the greatest. He has humor but professional. His entire office is awesome. Dr. Zant comes highly recommended by John Hopkins...Please Please put your worries aside.

Dr. Zant treated my daughter when she had a traumatic brain injury following an auto accident which rendered in a coma. He was the best...professional and very personable. Truly cares about his pateients. I would highly recommend him.

Dr Zant performed surgery on my back several years ago. He couldn't have been better. i have had no issues since.
I also know several people whom have had him as a doctor or surgeon, and all recommended him

I have worked with Drs Zant, Pierre, and Malik for several years now and have also had friends/family treated by them. He is absolutely wonderful. His ENTIRE practice is the best! No matter who sees you in that office, you can rest assured they will take excellent care of you. This is one of the few practices in the area where we as professionals cannot say anything bad about any of the doctors in that group. I would be(and my co-workers/family been) completely comfortable with them treating me.

He must be a great father as well. His daughter, Ada, used to be the branch manager at Peninsula Bank (PNC, now) and was the consumate professional. It was obvious she had been brought us "the right way".

Dr. Zant and Dr. Malik did my spinal fusion a few years back.

He is very through, professional and puts you at ease.

They both are great doctors and their office ladies are the best!

I've also seen Mark Ryan when the Dr's are booked or for follow ups. He's the greatest too!

Best of luck to you!

As one of his patients, I think he's the best! JHH's put me into his wonderful hands. There's no one else in Salisbury I would trust more than Dr. Z in his field! Good Luck.

Relax, you are in good hands. It may not neccesarily be Dr. Zant you see as he has other surgeons in his group. My surgeon wwas Dr. Andy Pierre, and he was nothing less than superb. He was very thorough and finally ordered a discogram, the definitive test that determined that I needed to have lumbar fusion. He sent me to Annapolis for the test as he felt they would do a better job than we can have done locally. It can be a very painful test, but by going to Annapolis, I have no memory of the test, thank goodness! Thanks to him, I can walk without pain again---no lie, I was in a wheelchair because of the pain, and I had less pain immediately after the surgery. I could walk again.

I have met Dr. Zant, and he is a very pleasant man; also, the CRNP in the office, Mark Ryan, is great, too. You have nothing to worry about.

About 20 years ago my brother had to have back surgery and he has always been terrified of doctors. Dr Zant put him at ease and the end result was wonderful. Unfortunately he has to have surgery again and he was just crushed that Dr Zant will not be able to do the surgery because of the insurance he has.

Dr. Zant is excellent. Dr. Malik performed brain surgery on my Step-dad back in 05 when he was diagnosed with Brain cancer. We saw Dr. Zant on several of the follow ups. The whole office is very caring and loving towards their patients and families. He is highly respected in his field.

I was an RN in the operating room from the time he came until I retired a few years ago. I can tell you I would not hesitate for a second having either Dr Zant, Dr Pierre or Dr Mailik do any surgery on me or my family. OR nurses see Drs from a totally different side than the public sees them and if you really want the 411 you need to ask those that work with them especially in the OR. They are EXCELLENT and you will love Dr Zant or Dr Pierre or Dr Mailik.

I have worked with Dr.Zant many times in the ICU at PRMC he is wonderful. Dr.Zant was the first black neurosurgeon at PRMC. Dr.Zant is straight forward. Not only have I worked with him on in the unit but he was also my back doctor and he told me everything I needed to know pointed out everything in xrays ct scan and MRI He hide nothing from me and that is what is so great about him.

geeze. getting professional advice from anonymous readers of a blog. why not check the AMA. they rate doctors. bedside manner is fine. but wouldnt you rather have ratings on technical skill?
