First It Was Frank Kratovil, Now It's Gary Comegys

Man, Gordy just can't help boosting his prices to the highest rates on the Eastern Shore before anyone else does. He supported Kratovil and his rates went through the roof and now Comegys and his prices skyrocketed once again! I guess that's the price you pay for politics, eh Folks?

oh god,here we go again!!!

He knows he's gonna loose customers, so might as well make a few xtra bucks on those he gets.

Gordo is a business man who was Comegys campaign manager before and is quietly now. He manipulates any situation to get what he wants. This is what these people do. He wants to be Fire Chief and Bubba is his ticket.

oh man! is this the price somewhere in Salisbury now?? What is the deal - the price per gallon of oil is down, what are they doing to us!!!!

Anonymous said...

Oh please, Gordo as Fire Chief and Bubba as Mayor - Salisbury is finished - we're almost there now but that would really do it.

What's worse is a cereal cup with a pint of milk for $200. Man that's highway robbery!

I thought you were talking about the milk, slow this morning.

Gordy would not take the Fire Chief job. Its too restrictive on his style. As Volunteer Deputy, he has free rein to speak to politians as often as he wants. There are restrictions on See and Hoppes that do not allow them to speak to Council and Mayor as often. If you tighten the reins, he cant grease the politians and he cant exist. You've heard it before that he wants things his way and he'll get it. This is how he does it.

Production of reformulated gasoline is down 23 percent from a year ago, and is now at a five-year low. Even with a drop in demand, the cuts are leading to increases of several cents a day at the pump.

"The petroleum market has finally gotten tired of losing money on refining fuel," said Bob van der Valk, a pricing analyst with 4Refuel in Lynnwood, Wash., adding: "No hopes are on the horizon to see any relief soon at the pump."

So even while Exxon Mobil Corp. reported a profit of $45.2 billion for 2008, breaking its own record for a U.S. company, it appears it wants more, much more.

Those prices were an error and were changed within a half hour of being put up. Regular was put back to 1.83. Man Joe, do you have photographers staked out on the Gordy's properties 24/7 just waiting for them to make a mistake???

He lowered his price this morning. I guess the $1.85 per gallon price across the street at the 7/11 might have had something to do with it. It was $1.99 after they closed at midnight last night, on my way out this morning it was down to $1.83

A mistake? Give me a break!
What is this, the daily times person again???

Gordy's signs are changed MANUALLY aren't they? Atleast this one looks like it.

IF it was a "mistake", then the person who made the "mistake" should be fired!

As I see it, and it does not make any difference to me who the owner of the station is, this was an attempt as price gouging, which the last time I checked was not legal.

Few years ago, Mom and Dad were victims of a scam in Illinois. It works like this:
One day a week, the station they bought gas at would make Regular gas cost more than the other two grades. The sign would still be in price order, but the names were changed, so looking at the sign, the cheapest was on top, but it was labeled as the mid grade. Pulling in to fill up, assuming the lowest price posted was regular, they filled up; for the last time at THAT station!
I look for that trick next here!

I can tell you for SURE those prices are changed manually. That was NO typo, it was 'set' that way until somebody screamed FOUL!

And we know there were people who simply pulled in as they normally do never checking the price first. I feel sorry for them. Over the last year or so it's now habit to check gas prices for every store I pass by.

He's gouged a few more, and you know he's laughing about it. Cute trick for an old dog.

Man, you people read way too much into things. Yes, the signs are manually changed, but they were accidentally set to the wrong price. The 1.99 price of mid-grade was accidentally set to regular unleaded, naturally throwing off mid and premium. As soon as the mistake was noticed, it was fixed (long before the morning anon 2:19, don't make up fiction it was not 1.99 after close at midnight).

3:31, Chill out. Price gouging? Seriously? Purposefully raise the price of a product with an equal competitor right across the street? Yeah, a lot of sense that makes. And to call for someone to be fired over a mistake. Are you always perfect every single day at your job, with every task you perform? Doubt it.

Let's also mention how Joe purposefully deletes all of Gordy's stations from his "lowest gas prices in Salisbury" chart on the main page, even when they are the lowest or among the lowest in town. Yet, this one mistake HE BLOWS WAY OUT OF PROPORTION to make negative publicity.

anon 3:14am usually the gordy marts are more expensive so why even post their high prices wa wa in salisbury is always 2 or 3 cents cheaper. I have never seen gordy's prices cheaper than anyone else

Yes, fired! That is what I said.

Let me tell you something. What you said happened could not be true!

Let's take a different look at this based on YOUR words (you obviously work for Gordy):

"Yes, the signs are manually changed, but they were accidentally set to the wrong price. The 1.99 price of mid-grade was accidentally set to regular unleaded, naturally throwing off mid and premium. As soon as the mistake was noticed, it was fixed (long before the morning anon 2:19, don't make up fiction it was not 1.99 after close at midnight)."

Now, IF, IF, IF, the numbers were switched while changing the sign, the person changing the sign would have HAD to have known because they would not have had the right numbers to finish changing the sign! How stupid do you think people really are?

And yes, I said price gouging. That is what it is called when you set the price to a higher level than is justified for any product.
I don't care what the other station was charging, that does not matter. If it did, then the other station was wrong too.

One more thing, I never said I was perfect but if I make a mistake at my job, it does not affect the public's wallet immediately and is not tied to prices which are already under scrutiny!

You felt you needed to come out and blast some of us here...makes me wonder...
Are YOU the bozo who changed the sign?????
